Went with my sister and while she ordered ahead i looked at the desserts available. They had baklava and dubai chocolate bars as well as mini cakes and cheesecake slices. I got the raspberry lemon and peanut butter chocolate. I also got the strawberry shortcake crepe which was delicious. Some places put cream cheese in the center of crepes and i'm not a fan of straight cream cheese, and i like it even less warm so i was a little worried about that. But from what i can tell it's an icing which made it much less potent and much more enjoyable for me. I also worried about the strawberries as they can be hit or miss depending on if they are in season or fully ripened and whether on purose or not, they have a strawberry jam or sauce they add that helps the strawberry flavor for those lacking and adds to the strawberries that are good. The jam/sauce itself does not taste like artificial strawberry but like a simple strawberry compote with none or minimal sugar added. I was very happy with how it came out and the white chocolate added another layer of sweetness but still not too sweet. The baklava is my favorite. I enjoy baklava and have had it from different places and while the top is flaky and crunchy, the layers after the pistachio is usually dense and soggy though still yummy to eat. However this place the person helping me got me room temp. Baklava and i was delighted that not only did it taste good but the layers themselves were still crunchy and flaky all the way through. I got the bluerazz drink and it was so good. I like my lemonade tart and the syrup they added with the lemonade was a really good balance of keeping the lemonade tart while still goving that bluerazz flavor. My sister got the dubai chocolate bar and she's been on the hunt for a good one. This is the only place where it tastes like pistachios with a good crunch and chocolate to gilling ratio. Over all the employees were wonderful, food was delicious, and i plan to come back again. I do want to put a disclaimer that i did not eat the cakes until a day or so later because the crepe was so filling, but even after a day the flavors were strong, structure was good, and i can only imagine how much better...
Read moreI finally had the chance to visit this new shop on 2520 Ridgeway Avenue for what truly was the Sweetest Retreat, in all senses of the phrase.
The community, the comfort, the music the check-ins and even the new people i met there were all amazing and all heavily contributed to the overall atmosphere of the shop. The desert was all made fresh and with care and consideration. The amount of diversity and joy i witnessed and experienced made me feel very light in spirit.
I began my sit down with a really good iced coffee. It was a white chocolate caramel mocha and while I am super picky with where I go for coffee this place DID. NOT. MISS. There were more milk options for those of us that are dairy free, so I had mine made with oatmilk. It was also money well spent since it is also a place that welcomes every one no matter the color of their skin, beliefs, language/accent. It was the perfect combination of coffee/sweetness i always look for. The barista was a doll and assured that if I didnt like it she would fix it. No fixes were needed.. she nailed it! 10/10 would order again.
The chocolate strawberry pistachio cup was the perfect appetizer-like dessert to have before a super sweet binge. The strawberries were fresh and the chocolate pistachio combination really allowed all flavors to prosper on their own and together all at the same time. 10/10 would order again.
The chinafa/kunafa was incredible. It was crisp, sweet, and entirely savory. It was hands down the best kunafa I had in a long time, the best kunafa since being back home in falasteen. It was served warm and sitting in its syrup. The sweet cheese in the center was delicious and didnt take away from the taste of this authentic Palestinian delicacy. 10/10 would order again.
Thank you so much to the owners for bringing a piece of home to our Rochester community. It was lovely and everything tasted perfect. Congratulations over and over again.

Read moreDisingenuous business. Overpriced and lacking. I bought the Dubia “chocolate” covered strawberry and dubia chocolate and for only 2 things it was $27. There’s barely any chocolate on the strawberry and they are lazy making them. The guy taking the orders kept saying how annoying it was to keep making these desserts. When people would come in to order the dubia chocolate, he lies and says there is no more left and makes them buy cheap prepackaged ones. They pick and choose who gets what dessert because they are lazy in making them even though people had no problem waiting! It’s not a good look when you say you’re tired of the orders right in front of your customers who just payed a lot of money. Back to the chocolate covered strawberries, it was filled with chunks of knafeh, dried chunks of chocolate and strawberries with the leaves still on. It was not a pleasant experience for $16. The Dubia chocolate was overly sweet, and the inside which is supposed to be a bit moist with knafeh was dry and painful to eat. Overall 2/10 experience. I had to leave this review because this business is getting lazy and too comfortable giving the...
