The table next to my girlfriend and I had a roach or cockroach on their table. To top it all off, when presenting the cockroach to the waitress/management, they asked "Did you bring that in with you?" As if it was impossible for them to have a cockroach in the restaurant. That was highly disrespectful and negligent of the staff to do. Pathetic. Witnessing that angers me, and it wasn't even my table.
Not only did my girlfriend lose her appetite right then and there seeing the interaction go down and being alerted of a cockroach, but the experience ruined our night. Despite the permanent trauma my girlfriend is going to have (whether she's weak or not is besides the point, I was hoping for a good night out), there was also a normal undiscounted check to top-off the night. Not like that says much considering the place is so cheap. I wouldn't mind them raising the price a few dollars and having a no-cockroach guarantee. That'd be nice.
Never going back here again unless we're absolutely desperate. There are plenty of other places that can scratch the same itch. This is a place you go with your guy friends after getting drunk and not knowing where to eat. Do NOT bring your girlfriend/wife or family here. We were there a total of 15 minutes or less before they found the cockroach, I can't imagine what else you can find there if you set up camp for long enough.
I'd recommend if you're scared of cockroaches, stay away. I could care less, but if my girlfriend's night is ruined, my night...

When they brought me the receipt for me to sign, I added $10.00 tip, so the total amount for them to collect was $74.98 ($64.08 + $10 tip). When I received my credit card statement, they charged me two times: $64.98 and also $74.98. A couple months later, I personally went to the the China Star Buffet with my credit card statement to show them the mistake they made. The owner and his wife told me that the bill was already too old and that they would not refund me for the extra credit card charge. I even mentioned to them that my family was in the restaurant and they said "we do not mind, we have many customers:. I then understood that this restaurant charges twice to customers intentionally. They should have fixed their mistake and not saying that this was an old bill when I am clearly showing them my credit card statement. I am glad that getting to know these people only cost me $64.98. Please if you dare to go to this buffet, please double check your credit card bill and DO NOT add a tip to the credit card receipt. My friend had twins who needed water because they had a bad cough... it took us a second time to ask for the water before they gave it to us. The waitress looked at my friend like she asked for Diamond ring when she asked for the water the 1st time as if it was too much to ask for. The water was tap. Although they had a mask on, I am really good at reading facial expressions and could tell they were not enthusiastic to serve us for what ever reason.
