We returned here in May 2021, on a sunny Friday afternoon. The parking lot next to the restaurant has Mon through Sat parking metered at one dollar per four hours. A great deal for easy access to Mauds. We are in the outdoor eating area in the shade of an umbrella, with a view across the Hudson River to the stone palisades. Really pleasant view and the slight breeze very refreshing. Happy to say our experience was just as we expected, food delicious, service friendly. Below is from our previous visit two years ago.

Hastings on Hudson is a short drive north from the city off the Sawmill River Drive. Sunday opening at 11:30am merited our party a front window table with a distant view across the Hudson to the palisades. The brunch menu included French toast with a variety of fruits and nuts that was delicious. The beet salad was also very good. Service was both welcoming and friendly. A long bar along one wall served the sit down people and those who chose bar stools and bartender. The interior is warm and cozy, you can view the menu selection on their website. Parking on the street is metered but free on Sundays. Also, on weekends the parking lot next to the restaurant is available free. The town itself is worth a stroll through, and an after meal walk to the riverside park across the tracks is a welcome airing of the senses. The new Tappan Zee bridge can be seen clearly upriver to the north Prices were very reasonable but do try to get the widow table for the great view. It is a short walk across the street to the...

I don’t like to give poor reviews and especially as restaurants are building back but this place was very disappointing in areas that aren’t difficult to deliver.

I’ll start with the positives- cute outdoor area, staff was very welcoming to us and our dog. It kinda ends there.

We ordered a Negroni and Aperol Sprtiz, there was no drink menu so we thought these were basic drinks for a Tavern to master, we were wrong. Aperol spritz was just ok, Negroni wasn’t even the correct ingredients (there’s only 3, this shouldn’t be hard). We placed a wing order with our cocktails and they never came out. We inquired about them several times and was just told “they are coming soon” but after ordering dinner, receiving and finishing our meals we said to go ahead and cancel the wing order. The response was “are you sure? They are coming out now.” It’s a Tavern, why would it take over an hour for a wing order to come out? Our dinner order was nothing special. Server asked how my husband wanted his burger cooked, he asked for medium and it came out well done. Not a big deal but you are charging $17 for a burger so those are things you should try to get right. I ordered a teriyaki chicken sandwich which had no teriyaki on it at all, it was clearly just a plain chicken breast.

It’s really the little things that make a restaurant worth returning to. There are other options in the area that are...

Was completely blown away by my experience here! Came here because they have gluten free options (celiac family member). Ordered the Turkey and Sweet Potato Shepard's Pie. It was very, very good...and gluten free!

Now, the gluten free fries, for anyone wondering, deff have room for improvement, as they lack the crisp (clearly baked). But, the texture gives you peace of mind because you know they haven't been contaminated in a "dirty" fryer.

Overall, a solid 3.5, but the quality gluten free food and great, friendly, warm, homey service pushed it to a 4 star review. I will deff be back and I strongly recommend for anyone who has to eat...

This is probably the best local food spot I’ve been to in a while. Prices were OK to be honest, I can’t complain because it’s in one of the nicer areas of the county. Server was amicable and the food was excellent. The lady and I had an appetite for some American food and we did not regret choosing to come here for our first time. by the way, they don’t take Apple Pay and if you’re the owner or Customer Service rep reading this please try to recruit the payment method of Apple Pay, or any mobile device payment method because the youth also want to eat here.
