BARE is great - if you don't mobile order a make your own bowl. On two occasions now I have gone to the location in Albany and they have neglected to fully read the ingredients that I would like to be in my bowl.
On the first occasion it was on a Friday morning and they were really busy and I could tell that the girl working was overwhelmed due to the messiness of her work station and her flustered attitude. I ordered my bowl to be ready at a specific time, and when I came to pick up my bowl mine was not ready yet. The girl made three bowls before she got to mine, giving me a pretty significant wait time. I wish that BARE had an email or text message system to prompt me when my order is ready so that I didn't have a wait time. Since my bowl was not ready yet, I was able to watch the girl put the wrong milk in my bowl. I asked for coconut milk and she put almond milk in my bowl. I did not ask her to remake it because I could tell that she was overwhelmed and I personally do not have an allergy to almond milk, however this made me concerned for others who may have allergies.
The second occasion, which was today, March 11, 2021, I ordered a make your own bowl for pick up, and was disappointed to see that one of the toppings that I paid an extra $0.75 cents for was not on my bowl. I double checked the receipt to verify that I did in fact order this item, and they just neglected to put it on my bowl. These bowls are very expensive and so I would have appreciated if they took a little more time to double check that they put all of the toppings listed on the receipt on the bowl. I was also disappointed to see that I asked for there to be a lid on my bowl, and the workers failed to put one on. I ask for a lid to be placed on my bowl 1.) so it is easy to transport and 2.) because we are in the middle of a global pandemic and it makes me uncomfortable to have my toppings openly out in the "pick up" case because another person who is mobile ordering and picking up has the potential to touch it. I feel a lot more comfortable consuming a bowl if I know for a fact that the contents of the bowl have not been touched by any other customers.
In all I would recommend ordering in person so that they do not mess up your bowl, and if you have an allergy I would recommend specifically stating this so they do not have the potential to put something in your bowl that will cause you to have an...
Read moreI have gone to Bare for years and have loved it, however was very displeased with how I was treated today. Firstly, I love their bowls, but my bowl today didn’t have any bee pollen on top when I got home, which is honestly the reason I ordered my bowl. Additionally, it took over thirty minutes to get my order, and before an owner tries to respond to this saying that their bowls are “all natural ingredients and take longer to prepare than a fast food restaurant” as they have on other reviews, I’ve been coming to Bare for years and know how long it should take to get three bowls. Lastly, and possibly most disheartening, while waiting an absurdly long time for my order I noticed one woman was sitting in open stools at the bar which were not covered with things restricting the seating area, and after she left upon getting her bowl, I went and sat there as well. Not even two minutes after I sat down, the same woman with tattoos and short brown hair who has received a bad review before yelled at me saying “Do you not SEE the pineapples on the other seats? You can’t sit there, this seating area is closed. If you absolutely HAVE to sit down, you can sit over there.” I was shocked. She also yelled at a woman who had an infant for trying to sit there after I had. I understand if the seating area is closed because of Covid, but it needs to be more clear. Tape over all of those stools or something. Additionally, if someone did go and sit in the other area, they wouldn’t be able to hear their name called over the blenders. Even the man standing near me was shocked by the way I was treated. I’ve previously loved Bare, and am having a hard time writing this review, but I had to say something about the way I was treated today because it was completely uncalled for. I was planning on going back there this coming Tuesday but don’t know if I will ever be coming back based on how unfairly I was treated today, how poor the service was, and the fact that after over 30 minutes of waiting, my bowl was missing...
Read moreFirst time visiting. It was after 2pm so I figured it wouldn't be too busy. Only 2 ladies waiting when I walked in, the menu is small and I didn't see what I wanted. I usually go to RAW which is Awesome but they close at 2. So I politely asked the woman if I could create my own and with much attitude she said "fine what is it that you want?." I began to explain and she quickly stopped me saying that they don't make acia bows as the base. She said I have to mix it with some other fruit. She said they only use packets. Because their blender is right next to the register it was extremely hard to hear her and of course the mask didn't help. I didn't really know what she was saying but I continued and then everything that I asked for she just gave me an attitude about. I clearly had never been there so you would think the staff would be more apt to helping explain how they work and the different options. Like I said it wasn't busy but she was just trying to rush me out of there I felt like. And then come to find out that my bowl was over $13 I couldn't believe it. I assumed it would be really really good. And then I tried it. Strawberries are not fresh cut they're very slimy like they've been sitting in a bowl, the bananas were brown, granola was stale Definitely not worth $13 when I can get the same bowl anywhere else for $11 or cheaper with MUCH kinder service and fresher ingredients!!. Because I am on a very strict diet there's very few places I can stop and get a quick meal However I will not be stopping here again...
