The best pizza slice in Albany, New York! As a new resident of the State Capital, I was recently in a hurry to get a haircut along Western Avenue on a Saturday. I saw Paesans Pizza's sign and storefront as I was cruising back and forth unable to find a particular barbershop reportedly located behind a building along the avenue. I decided to drop by Paesons to ask for directions. In seeing and smelling that Italian aroma like a good aftershave, I suddenly realized that In my rush I had altogether forgotten about lunch. So, just as I was chatting with the woman at the cash register about the best barbershops in Albany, I thought: "Great, time for a good slice!" They even displayed the choice of thin or thick. She proceeded to tell me where her father gets the best haircut in town, all as she was simultaneously heating my slice with delicious marinara and plenty of cheese. So New York and a fantastic introduction to Albany for a new resident! Not only did she give me directions to the best barbershop immediately in another part of town, with detailed instructions about how to drive there directly, but she also stopped my stomach for growling with the most incredibly appetizing lunch, the tastiest slice around, and absolutely the quickest service! I found the barbershop where her father regularly gets the best haircut and now know to frequent my neighborhood pizzeria regularly! All in less than...
Read moreOuch. To start we, as a family, have only ordered from here a few times a year since moving here in 2016. There's clearly been a change in management and/or ownership because the quality is in question.
The chicken wings. $67.49 for a 50 count. Cool. Above the average local $1.00 a wing for "fresh" chicken wings. Better be good right? The wings are the par baked, pre cooked chicken wings from the local Restaurant Depot in the purple and yellow box. Not fresh. Not even "mis-cuts" Pre made "authentic" box, processed food. Food service brothers and sisters chime in.
Large Cobb pizza. Man. Shame. Extra cheese? Not on that pie you sold me. Cobb? Maybe back to culinary school. But easy $ for you right?!
The three other medium pies we ordered were okay.
Thanks for the free two liter of Pepsi that is appreciated.
All in for $170.00 I would never seek out the service of your establishment again.
Shame that the Barstool Sports endorsement may drive business your way but Paesans is only shaming their brand by selling sub par food.
I hate trashing local folks but for the hard earned money my kids make in the same food industry, this...
Read moreAfter years of being a loyal customer, I regret to say I’ve placed my last order at Paesan’s in Guilderland. My recent experience was nothing short of disappointing. After waiting over an hour and a half for my order, it was inexplicably switched to DoorDash, cycled through two drivers, and then transferred back to one of Paesan’s own drivers. By the time the pizza arrived, it was completely cold.
The receipt confirmed the pizza had been made over an hour and a half earlier, so I called the restaurant. Unfortunately, I was met with rudeness from an employee named Candace, who told me, “If you want warm pizza, maybe you should pick it up,” and, “It’s kinda hard to keep pizza warm when it’s 19 degrees out.” Does this mean people shouldn’t order delivery in winter? If that were the case, Paesan’s wouldn’t stay in business.
Reluctantly, she agreed to issue a refund, but not without resistance. I hate to criticize a local business I’ve supported for years, but this was the worst service I’ve ever experienced. Someone this unprofessional shouldn’t be interacting with customers. Overall, a very...
