Food is awesome. Service and atmosphere is below average. They mess your order up way too often because they revised their menu and made it much more confusing.
You could say the same thing to two different people and get two different dishes. No consistency between their menus and the website which makes it a hassle to order.
Youâre in Clifton ParkâŠ.very few people are going to even attempt to pronounce the name of the dish in Vietnamese. The descriptions are what most of your customers use to order. That means they need to be the same on all of the different platforms you utilize. Otherwise your staff is going to continue to be confused.
You are the ones who changed your menu and the descriptions. Again, there is absolutely no consistency anymore so donât get pissed at customers when they ask for clarification.
I would order here once a week, but donât because I donât feel like arguing with the staff when they get my order wrong.
I get the same thing every time. Just look up what I got last time and make it again. Very simple.
I donât care what you call it. If I tell you I want vermicelli with lemongrass beef you should know what that is. I should never receive the rice dish (bĂČ xĂ o sa Ăłt)âŠor worse yetâŠhave two meals waiting for me when I arrive.
You changed your menu and took the word âlemongrassâ out of the description for many of the dishes. You describe it as âsautĂ©ed sirloin beefâ in some dishes, âgrilled beefâ in others, and âsautĂ©ed spicy lemongrass beefâ for another one. They all get the same beef though.
You even call it âsautĂ©ed sirloin beef vermicelli over vermicelliâ in one description. No such thing exists. Vermicelli means noodleâŠthere is no such thing as âbeef vermicelliâ because you donât make noodles out of beef. âRice vermicelli noodleâ is redundantâŠ.itâs like saying rice noodle noodle.
The solution is simple. Fix YOUR mistakes and stop getting pissed off at customers. Youâd make more money.
You should revise the description of âbĂșn bĂČ xĂ oâ on your paper menu to âsautĂ©ed lemongrass beef over rice vermicelliâ and add the Vietnamese names of the dishes to your website. You will have less issues.
Also, why are you only offering spicy beef with rice and not vermicelli? That...
Read moreSaigon Spring is the best and a relatively big Vietnamese specialty restaurant in the capital area, there are always plenty of people during most of the times I dine there, but I never really have to wait for more than half an hour to be seated. They have decently friendly staffs. The dishes arrive pretty quickly after you order, there is not much of a downtime for waiting at all even when it's full.
They don't have a laundry list of appetizers, but they have quality options. Their spring or summer rolls are very refreshing. My favorites are the pork summer rolls, spicy lemongrass mussels, and stuffed chicken wings.
One of their highlights in Vietnamese cuisine is the soup noodles. They have by far the most tasty, authentic, and consistent soup noodles among the Vietnamese restaurants in the area. The stock of the soup is very flavorful, topped with very thin cut raw beef (types of meat depend on the dish you order). So after you submerge the medium rare beef slices in the soup, the beef slices are cooked just right. My two favorites are the Saigon Spring Special Noodle Soup and the Lemongrass Beef Noodle Soup. I also enjoyed their dry noodles a lot, such as the grilled chicken rice vermicelli and the spicy lemongrass beef rice vermicelli.
Last but not least, another favorite for me is their Vietnamese coffee. They give you a cup with a thick layer of condensed milk in the bottom, on top of the cup, there's the coffee filter with grind coffee beans and hot water, which allows the coffee to be dripped down into the cup on the condensed milk (similar to a French press). This way, although the coffee is made very slowly in front of you, the coffee is very concentrated, like an espresso shot. Once the coffee is finished dripping from the top, and you mix it together with the condense milk, it was absolutely phenomenal. The coffee was very strong, however, you only taste a hint of the bitterness because the sweetness of condense milk evens out the excessive bitterness in the coffee. The formula portion of coffee and condense...

For a cold day I would go for their beef noodle soup. It is Vietnamese Pho, although my Vietnamese friends think that it is not up to the standard of a good pho, however for us non Vietnamese, it is a good hearty bowl of hot soup, which I love. Always my favorite until the day I discovered their spicy noodle soup. Now I am always in dilemma which to order as I love both of them.
Then the Chicken or Shrimp salad. Consist of shredded cabbage and fish sauce, it is a good refreshing dish for a hot day, very refreshing. Especially when one is not up for a big meal. Also is a very appetizing starter.
Then there is the curry chicken, creamy non spicy with lemongrass. So far whomever I have introduce this dish to, everyone loves it. The chicken is very tender, and I think the same sauce goes with shrimp as well. Also love the clay pot chicken, the ginger soy based sauce goes very well with rice. The grilled salmon is great too, well balanced with the steamed vegetable sides.
I better stopped here, if not I will be spending the whole afternoon describing their menu. They could be very busy during peak hours, so if you have a big group, it will be better if you give them a call in advance. For two of us, we just drop by whenever we want a good meal, and usually they could accommodate us.
P/s: the picture posted shows another 2 dishes which we also love. The stuffed chicken wings (we do find this dish expensive after the price was hiked up) and the grilled...
