Food was good. One of our waitresses (note the plural) was very nice but general service on the other hand, not so great. We ordered drinks at the start, and only two people out of our 8 person order (should also note that we had not one but TWO toddlers with us, so all the times I'm mentioning helped at all.) got their drinks within 3-5 minutes. The others had to wait an additional 10 minutes to get theirs. We ordered food at this point and it took about average time to get to our table. As I said, the food was great. At this point, we finished our meal and were waiting for the waitress to come back and check on us. Quite a while goes by, she doesn't come back. Finally one waitress (who was not ours) came to ask us if some of us wanted refills on our drinks. My mom wanted a refill on her beer. My aunt and I wanted refills on our soda. She asked what we had at first. I told her mine, and my aunt told her what she had. Three of us ordered milkshakes as well. A little over 15 minutes go by, my aunt and I get our drinks, and she gave me the wrong drink and my aunt the correct one. My mom's beverage still hasn't arrived at this point and neither have our milkshakes. Remember the two toddlers I mentioned? We had to bring them outside while the others waited because, well... They're toddlers. They have a limited attention span. My aunt decided to go to the manager and cancel the beer to just take the milkshakes to go. This took an additional 15 minutes. Our original waitress never came back to serve us as far as I am aware. We do not know what it is, but we believe that this restaurant is incredibly understaffed. Our waitress was tasked with too many tables and completely forgot about us. It took ages to get a milkshake from wherever it was coming from (25+ minutes before complaining to the manager). It took so long for my mom's refill to come that my aunt had to go to the manager to cancel it. The milkshake I got, at least, was incredibly warm which makes me believe it had been done for quite some time (perhaps the entire time they were waiting?) There needs to be more waitresses and bartenders working at this restaurant, especially in a large area like this. My parents and I never had this problem when we last dined at Red Robin, in Pennsylvania, which is a much bigger one than this. We had excellent service there. If you can help it, please do not dine at this particular Red Robin. To summarize everything: Excellent food. Wonderful and sweet waitress. Horrible service...
Read moreI'll give two stars because our experience in the past was always pleasant. But yesterday took it from a 5 to a 2 because of the way things are currently run. We walked in around 5:30 and were told a 70 minute wait. I asked if we could get some fries at the bar for my young kids but were told no because the wait is due to kitchen staffing. There wasn't much we could do so we put our name on the wait list while we strategized. My husband took my 5 year old to use the bathroom and when he came back he informed me it was absolutely filthy. He also said that there were a total of three parties seated with maybe 7 people total.
Normally I would be empathetic and I was at first, because I understand that staffing issues are a management problem, not the staff. However, there was three women standing around the hostess station gossiping. They could barely be bothered to do more than tell people coming in it was a 70 minute wait, seemingly encouraging that they leave, and then back to their conversation. There was also a number of servers that my husband saw standing around talking. It seems the staffing issues in the kitchen could be resolved if they redistributed labor or re-strategized.
The wait seemed to be prioritizing to-go orders. There was an abundance of them being placed at the pick up station and the phones were not being answered. If they want to prioritize to-go orders, that's reasonable. But there should at least be an indicator on the website like Cracker Barrel has; a sign on the door; something indicating that we have to wait 70 minutes despite having an empty restaurant. We saw a number of people come and immediately turn around. After a little bit, we too decided to leave because our small kids a) were hungry, b) needed to use the bathroom and that was too filthy for use, and c) three parties that arrived at the same time as us went on to be seated but we were not addressed as to how much longer. When we drove back home and fed our kids, exactly 67 minutes after checking in, we got the text that we'd get seated. I was not confident that we would even receive good service if we had waited so we cut our losses.
Today we were accommodated rapidly by the Latham location, with a friendly and welcoming hostess rather than passively encouraging...
Read moreOn Aug 12, 2021 my sister and I visited your Clifton Park location at approximately6:45 PM. I use to love this place and that is why I talked my sister into going here. However that was a major mistake. I had wanted the Cod and Chips but was told it wasn't available because their delivery of a couple days ago was frozen. I felt that was a poor excuse. Two days should have been enough time for them ensure it wouldn't be frozen. So I ordered a cheeseburger with a little bit of pink and just cheddar cheese and raw onions only. We also ordered a short stack of onion rings as an appetizer. When the onion rings arrived, we unrolled the napkins containing the silverware. It was only a fork. We requested to get knives which took a while while l e our onion rings were getting cold. When our meals finally arrived after having been delivered to another table, my burger came with mayonnaise which I don't use on anything except tuna salad. I requested to speak with a manager. When he came I explained my displeasure regarding the Cod Fish being still frozen after 2 days, the fact that they don't provide knives (due to them being short on them) and the mayonnaise situation. At this point I said I would just cancel my meal and just pay for my sister's meal, our drinks and onion rings. He said he would bring me another cheeseburger which I mentioned would take too long as my sister was just about done. He said it would be quick so I said OK. Well it took much longer than the first time and it was overcooked with no juiceness. I remember going here when it would be packed and food and service was good. I asked the manager if they got rid of some of their silverware when he said they were short. Funny they always had plenty when they were packed. They only had about a third or less of the place full. Well I won't be back. I had recently been to a nearby 99 Pub and Restaurant and received totally better service and food. Sorry for being long but I was totally upset. BTW, other restaurants would have probably not charged me for the burger tha I could only eat half if due to...
