My developmentally disabled brother, John, visited Hamburg’s Spot Coffee ( a favorite of his) this past week and had a wonderful experience. He ordered a raspberry tea, a spinach wrap and a red velvet muffin. When he went to pay for his lunch, he was told that there was only $3 left on his gift card. While John is so talented in many ways….(he remembers birthdays, is good at fixing things, is a whiz at Country music trivia, and bakes desserts from scratch!) he has always struggled with the concept of money. The staff gently informed him that he was “a little short” and treated him to lunch anyway. When he relayed this information to me a few days after the fact, I stopped in to thank them for their kindness and settle up his bill but was told by the manager that it was their pleasure to help him. Kudos to the Hamburg Spot Coffee management and staff for their incredibly kind, classy gesture and making people with special needs feel welcome ! You are a Blessing to our...
Read moreFirst time I was disappointed here. I always get a turmeric ginger tea. The cashier gave me plain black tea. When I took it back to counter she told me didn't have any turmeric ginger tea. I only go once a month for the past 3 years to different spot coffee locations and always get it! My girlfriend ordered a decaf coffee and they were out of decaf. So they made her one with decaf expresso and hot water and charged her the higher price because they made her an Americano. After she paid and inquired why it cost more than her usual decaf the cashier then told her they were out of decaf! If they told her right away she would have ordered something else! Guess we will go to the Orchard Park location next month! At least my 3rd friend got what...
Read moreHave enjoyed Spot in the past; not a regular; i use it when I don't have time to cook. Ran in a few days ago and ordered a large spinach salad. When it was ready I didn't look, just ran to do an errand and head home. At home I found a handful, not a container full of a variety of greens, no blueberries, no goat cheese, nor red onions. The dressing included was some sort of cream style, not cranberry lime vinaigrette. Don't remember price, I think maybe $9.95, and I'd guess I got about $.45 worth of greens. I know accidents happen, but they were not busy, only a 2-3 people in there already served. 0 starts for this visit; 5 for...
