Charming local coffee shop, restaurant and gift shop located in the village of Hamburg, open since 1997. Comfort zone is just that, a place to come for delicious coffee, tea and comfort food. I met a friend for lunch and was delighted. In the past I have come through here quickly just for a coffee or tea. I ordered the grilled cheese with Brie, raspberry and walnuts which came with a side salad. My sandwich was huge, delicious and something different. The Brie was perfectly melted, the raspberry jam was a sweet contrast to the cheese and the walnuts were soft and added some texture to the sandwich. The side salad was pretty large and the home made dressing options offered something for every palette. My friend ordered the sun-sation salad with smoked salmon. It was a generous portion with fresh ingredients and she was very happy with her choice. Other menu items include soups, wraps, paninis, desserts, pastries and Paula’s donuts. I have enjoyed their coffees and teas in the past. Tons of options for every diet and taste. In addition to the food and coffee they offer a soup club, home made popsicles and adorable and unique gifts. I was in need of birthday gift and was easily able to find something here after I finished my lunch. Sign up for their digital rewards card and earn credit for shopping. I checked in on Yelp and also was awarded $1 off a $10 purchase. Quick and helpful service. Indoor and outdoor seating available. They have a gluten free and gluten sensitive menu available complete with the option of gluten free bread.

In town to get a tattoo and stopped here for breakfast and I’m so glad we did! Phenomenal food and fantastic service. I ordered the Zippity-Doo-Da but got the chipotle aioli in place of the Sundried Tomato Marscapone Spread and it was amazing. The strawberry rhubarb pie tasted just like how my grandma used to make it, absolutely delicious. I also got the tiramisu iced latte, and was not disappointed. My significant other got the tater kegs with chipotle aioli to dip in and loved them! I’m not a huge reviewer, only if something is really, really good, or really, really bad! I HIGHLY recommend stopping by this place, great food, great coffee, great vibes!

I wont leave a low star review but lets be transparent. This was $37. You be the judge. Two chocolate milks (mochas), and two breakfast sandwiches. Vibe inside is cozy, people are nice, but almost $40 for this is honestly insane. If this looks like $37 worth of food to you, then stop in, you'll love it! Editing this comment to respond to the owner: Yes, the prices are listed on the menu, but at $10 a sandwich, I wasn’t expecting Tim Hortons sized portions and quality, I was expecting Blue Eyed Baker sized portions. The bagel breakfast sandwich used bacon bits, not even real sliced bacon, which was disappointing for $10 and WAS in fact surprising.

This establishment doesn't enforce COVID friendly practices hence the score of the review. My friend found a Groupon for this cafe and decided to support before embarking on our hike. While figuring out how to utilize his Groupon with the cashier, enters a mother with her 2 daughters not wearing a mask. Her daughter's starts running around the cafe, touching products, bantering amongst themselves whilst the mother stands there with no care in the world. She then asked if I'd ordered.

I simply responded:

Me: "...your daughter's aren't wearing a mask?" Her: "..we come here all the time and they are fine" Me: "..but still they need to wear a mask" Her: "..do you work here?" Me: "..do you work here?" Me: ".. if you don't care about covid then cool"

The 2 ladies behind the counter took her order then giggled about the situation. I was shocked and disgusted by the lackluster attitude of the worker's towards the mother's negligence. No one stood up for me nor sympathized with my concerns.

As for the food.. ehh extremely over priced for the portion size and quality. My friend barely had salmon in his wrap and dumplings in his soup. Maybe consider sticking to selling pastries...

One of the staff members TOLD me to get the correct order for 1 of the ladies I was with, because he wasn’t sure he’d gotten her order correct and then again TOLD me to tell the other lady to come up and pay for her drink??? WOW!!! NOT MY JOB! Should have learned from that but, I ordered anyway... What a WASTE of time and money! The pasta salad looked good but tasted like an old sour refrigerator which was gross but, better then the Bacon, mushroom & Swiss sandwich I had which, isn’t saying much! The mushrooms had an odd taste. And I ended up with the roof of my mouth RAW and BLISTERED! That has never happened to me before and I’m 60 years old! I won’t go into detail what happened next, do to them serving old nasty food but, I spent a great deal of time at the first rest area down the road! Also, not sure what kind of NASTY OLD DRIED OUT muffins they gave me but, they sure weren’t the zucchini ones in the case that I’d ordered! Very, VERY over priced for the lack of quality and edible food... $23 of wasted money! I’d give them no stars if I could! I’ll NEVER eat...
