Tea Leaf Cafe — Restaurant in Town of Hamburg

We stopped by this bubble tea cafe during our trip to New York, lured by its whopping 4.9 review score. As soon as I entered, my lungs were filled with good aroma of tea leaves, which made me happy.

The staff was very nice. I ordered milk tea with sesame and asked which tea would go better with sesame, black tea or green tea. He explained in details how each version would taste like and it was very helpful for me to make up my mind.

He asked us if we were from around this area, but we told him that we were just traveling. For a moment, he looked sad, but we added, "but we may come back if we really like your bubble tea." Then his expressions turned bright and he gave us a point card. :D

The drinks tasted really good. I apologize for my brief mentioning of the drink itself, but I guess other reviewers have written many good things about their drinks, so refer to them. All in all, I could say that this is one of the best bubble tea places I have ever experienced. Those who live around the area should consider themselves lucky. I hope I will visit there again...

TLDR; employees are disrespectful, employees are disruptive, good tea.

This is my second visit to the cafe, and also the final visit. I asked if I could add rose petals to my rooibos tea. They said they didn't have any; which is not the problem. I inquired if they had any sort of herbs I could add to my beverage, and was informed they did not have any; this is still not the issue. The product here is good, but the employees made me feel disrespected and highly uncomfortable when I heard them joking about my question in the back room while I was sitting on the sofa by the window. Tea Leaf has always been a favorite of ours! When we first moved to OP we would drive to Amherst any chance we got to visit- so when the southtowns location opened we were thrilled! We've been going since opening day and have never had a bad experience- the flavors are always amazing, the staff is always so nice and ready to offer awesome recommendations, and there is constantly a rotation of new flavors, jellies, and boba! We really love the side door access for picking up online orders (the screen facing outside to let you know when your order is ready is such a nice convenience too!)
