Bar Americano — Restaurant in Town of Hempstead

I look forward to returning and doing another updated review when I do. I had gone here shortly after they had opened. Staff was running around so the service wasn’t super great- our drinks took long, we wanted another but she didn’t come back in time lol some of our food brought out was cold etc. the drinks weren’t great, the light purple one was kind of tasteless. The dish with all the white stuff on it is grilled carrots with a TON of goat cheese…it was way too much goat cheese to be enjoyable… it isn’t even plated well, the presentation is not appetizing…I’d really like to see them do something different with the inside decor as well. They seem to be keeping things the same from the last place that was there but the decor and paint clashes and they could really use an accent wallpaper wall with an intricate design or spice it up with decor relevant to their 1920s theme (or whatever their theme is, I forget) … inside decor is very loud and clashing and some simple but sexy dark paint and a wall of wallpaper both which compliment each other would go a long way. I booked Bar Americano in Bellmore for my private graduation dinner this past weekend. There was about 40 of us including a few children. I must say the entire staff from the bartenders to the servers were absolutely amazing! By the end of the night they all felt like family. They offered to help us set up the tables and any help that we needed which meant so much to me because I was already running behind because the earlier part of the day wasn't going as planned. But, they were so helpful and kind to me and all of my guests. Throughout the evening, many of my friends and family came to me to tell me how pleased they were with the food, service and drinks. I felt the same! My night went better than expected. The chef/owner was the point of contact throughout the entire planning process and he was very kind and accommodating. We were able to connect our personal device to the speakers so that we can play music. I had an overall lovely night and I wouldn't have booked it with any other establishment. They were phenomenal and I thank them so much for making my night...

This place is a gem!! We came in on a Friday night and received amazing service. Got to speak to one of the co-owner's who is also the chef as well. You can tell he puts his heart into his business, and it shows through the quality of the food. Every single item we ordered was incredibly delicious and plentiful, the portions were so generous!

We started with the brussel sprouts (huge brussel sprouts people here, these might be the best we've had) and the sauce they had on them... I would eat on everything. We dove into them before I remembered to take a picture! We also got an order of shishito peppers which were classic and delicious as well.

My boyfriend got the short rib that came over polenta with rainbow carrots, he scraped the bowl clean. He typically doesn't eat carbs but he'll indulge for the right meal and this was one that got him to switch up his routine. The short rib was tender and just perfect. I got the steak sandwich with parmesan fries and no surprise, another absolutely delicious dish.

We will absolutely be back and can't wait to try more...
