I have to give Spiga Bakery in Bellmore a solid 5 stars! I discovered this hidden gem through a friend who saw it on TikTok, and let me just say, I have been back FOUR times this week since the first visit! Today, I came in with my sister for breakfast, and we were NOT disappointed. I ordered the bacon, egg, and cheese, while my sister went for the sausage, egg, and cheese. To start, the sizes of the sandwiches were HUGE – and we loved it! It’s so rare to find a place that doesn’t skimp on portions, and Spiga definitely delivers. The melted cheese was incredible, and honestly, that’s a big deal for me because I feel like most Long Island delis lately haven’t been getting the melt right. Here? Perfect melt, perfect balance. 10/10 for the sandwiches alone! I also tried the chocolate and sprinkle donut today, and it was out of this world. You can absolutely taste the freshness, and it was so soft. I’ve had the vanilla and sprinkles before, and that’s definitely my favorite, but the chocolate was amazing too. I got the nutella donuts on previous visits and i must mention that words can’t even describe how good it was—definitely a must-try. The best part was how quickly the food came out, and the staff was super polite, even when there was so many people which always makes for a great experience. Have been a costumer for about 15 years, I've always loved Spiga, and I know a lot of people do this if you use a credit card you pay more, prices tend go up come up frequently, I can understand that as well with the inflation, but the only reason I have been costumer for such a long time is, the pastries and cakes were always fresh, and I was willing to pay for that, but a month ago I bought assorted pastries and in perticular napoleons, very disappointed not fresh very stale taste, cream definetly not fresh, this has happened before with the napoleon, extremely disappointed, then I came in to buy a costume birthday cake which I buy every November, and we buy 5 birthday cakes a year , anniversary and bunch of others just to mention a few. A new young lady took my order, very polite, apparently I couldn't order a custome cake because it didnt have the checks on the cake order list, which I explained I get this every year. I decided to go ahead and order according to the checks on the order list. Sorry to say the cake came out not looking as I expected it looked sad. It was okay and okay only because it was fresh, the young lady never went and asked someone if my cake was do-able the way I want like it was last 15 years. I am absolutely disgusted by the service and lack of professionalism at this establishment. My friend has been ordering cakes from here for years so naturally when she offered to get a cake for my babyshower I did not hesitate. We sent them a picture and were told there would be an extra charge for to place cut out pieces on top of the cake ( fondent), we had no problem paying more money as long as we got the cake that we wanted. Well, I went to pick up the cake an hour and a half before my shower ( at 9 months pregnant ) to see a cake that barely resembles the picture we sent them ! There were no fondent cut outs there was a sloppy letter "M" with a crooked circled around and sprayed circles ! Mind you, I am very reasonable and tried to rectify the situation although I was nearly in tears that this amateur looking cake will be feautured in all of the pictures at my shower. The owner refused to fix the cake or even offer us a refund for the work he did not perform . I hope he is happy at putting a 9 th month pregnant woman into tears . Absolutely disgusting. I will be spreading the word to EVERYONE I know in Merrick and Bellmore, that is not how you do business ! Especially like I said before, my friend has ordered dozens cakes for all of her...
