Kashi — Restaurant in Town of Hempstead

Kashi is a Japanese cuisine restaurant franchise with a beautiful, comfortable large dining room. Online pictorials of the meals are appealing.

The menu may be vegan friendly, possibly the Avocado Salad, Peanut Mango Avocado Salad, Ginger Salads, Spring Roll, Vegetable Gyoza, Seaweed Salad, Vegetable Soup, Vegetable Tempura, Vegetable Udon, Tofu and Vegetable Teriyaki, Side of Sushi Rice, some sushi rolls, side sauces and dressings but there is no indication or grouping to indicate ingredients.

The lady who answers the phone on Saturday evening is horrible. She is a poor communicator, with a complete lack of knowledge about the dishes and a reluctance to inquire. It was a horrendous and unpleasant struggle to order anything. Ordering in person was slightly less painful.

Edit to add: I've been there a handful of times, and the women at the front desk are horrible. They know nothing, about the menu or how a restaurant is run, are unhelpful and one of them is completely stupid. She stands around, does nothing, doesn't listen, messing up passing along a simple message, without an apology or explanation, making my late dinner another hour later and somehow couldn't manage to bring me two forks, to interrupt her whole bunch of nothing, despite being requested several times

Vegetable Hibachi is a fine mix including snow peas, asparagus, broccoli, zucchini carrots, onions and garlic with an ample amount, brownish, tangy, watery, slightly sweet sauce.

The vegetables were perfectly cooked and while delightful, the sauce and somehow the Shishito Peppers are watery. They're both soggy however excellent, healthy diet dishes. I recommend having the hibachi with all the sauce on the side

The moistened crunch seaweed and sesame seeds, with a hint of sweet atop of the Shishito was tasty but spicy chili pepper in the mix, redundant and unnecessary

Edit to add: I have since found out the Peanut Mango Avocado Salad and dressing, Vegetable Gyoza and Tofu Teriyaki dishes are vegan and quite yummy. The Vegetable Tempura is also vegan. They have delicious sauces. The Ginger Sauce, Peanut Mango Avocado dressing, Teriyaki Sauce, and Vegetable Tempura sauces are vegan. The Ginger Dressing is seemingly vegan. The Vegetable Gyoza sauce, Vegetable and Miso soups are not vegan.

The chef is seemingly accomodating. Cost is average. Check over your pickup food. They tend to mess up special orders. Plastic containers are sturdy. Portion sizes of dishes are above average and side sauces and dressings, below average or skimpy. Food 3.5....

The food was good, very innovative and fun, but still had the classic rolls. I think my favorite dish here was the spicy edamame. If you come with friends who are vegatarian, it's an easy menu to order from 😋 The drinks were phenomenal as well, a tad on the sweeter side but that's what I prefer. Great place for parties, as they had large tables and there were several birthday parties going on with shots and singing going on. I think what soured my experience was the wait; our fault because we walked in on a Friday night with no reservation. They told us 30 minutes, which we were okay with, but we let them know that if it was any longer, we could go somewhere else since we were starving. When we checked in with them at the 40-minute mark, they said they were cleaning the table. It wasn't until over an hour later that we were sat down. The service was kind of fine, maybe our server was new, but they were a bit clumsy and spilled the drink (which was fine, because that drink was filllled 🤤). It was when the check came, though, that left a weird feeling; they plopped the check down in the middle of the table while we were still talking and walked away. Very rude. We waited so long, the restaurant was slowing down but there were still other tables sat, and it was still an hour away until closing, so it kind of felt like we were being...

Strike 2 for Kashi Bellmore. We live outside of their delivery area but want to support local businesses. We order for pick up which is on average 1 hour wait. The first time we ordered, after a 1 hour wait we sat in the parking lot for another 20 minutes before our food came out. The gentleman said make sure everything on the receipt is correct. We confirmed and were on our way. Once home we opened up our food to have dinner and the rolls in our bag were nothing like what we ordered. We called and they apologized for mixing our rolls up with someone else. We refused refund to support a small business. Today we returned to give them a second try. Pick up process was much quicker Receipt was verified. My husband gets home and this time we have no rolls in our bag. We once again called and we can either drive there to pick up our rolls (which were ordered 2 hours ago and have been sitting) or once again get a refund. While they deliver they will not deliver to us to make it right and this is 2 times our household cannot sit down and have dinner together because 2 peoples entire meal has not made it. If you choose to order from this place don’t just verify receipt when they bring the food out or you will more than likely get home having paid for multiple items you...
