Bramalo Pizzeria & Restaurant — Restaurant in Town of Hempstead

I'm very picky, annoying and judgemental. :) So when I say I like a place, I really mean it. We just got home from dinner at Bramalo, our first visit. It's not often that I'll say - EVERY thing was great. The cocktails were solid, really great actually. Even the house wines we ordered were great. I finished off with the special which was a perfectly made espresso martini that was recommended by the super friendly bartender. Really an excellent drink, pretty much a dessert.

We ordered the clams... Top notch, comes in a great sauce, I don't even know what it was but it's not the basic typical lemon garlic. Calamari was done perfectly. Troffolini (I probably spelled that wrong) was an undoubtedly handmade pasta stuffed with ...I don't remember... But it was great. Very unique dish. Last I'll tell you about, and best for last.... The short rib Mac and cheese. Ok, so I have full conversations with people about mac and cheese... And this is one to add to my conversation. Honestly one of the best dishes I've had in awhile. We'll order that every time we visit, and we'll visit just to order that.

Our first time there, and we'll definitely be back - adding Bramalo to the short list.

Update 2023: this remains one of my favorite spots. I think being part of a pizzeria makes you expect less of it, but the food is much more elevated than a basic pizzeria. For the first time I had the Garlic Parmesan wings.... What you expect based on every other place is a wing covered in white goopy sauce - but no that's not how they do it here.... The wings are breaded and smothered in real roasted garlic, garlic that has been cooked until it's sweet and perfect, and actual parmesan. It's very much a chef's dish. Dare I say this was the best flavored (non buffalo) wing I've ever had ..... And at a pizza place. Will probably add that to the order every time.

I took time to read some negative reviews, I'm positive some are simply fake, I presume a competitor. Otherwise delivery problems from a third party or complaining about prices, just ignore those. I would love to sit down and eat a meal here with anyone complaining about food - because they are either lying or have a palette better suited...

With a heavy heart I make this review. I have ordered from Gino's before, now Bramalo for 20 years. I had ordered before my shift at work started. Large pie, extra cheese, well done. I tipped and paid before arrival of my order. When I opened the box I saw that it was a regular pie. Not well done no extra cheese. I called the driver to see if he gave me wrong pie. Told me to call store. Was told by Matt the supposed manager that when a pie is well done, sometimes the extra cheese melts away. Now I probably spend atleast $5,000 a year ordering from this place. I order dinners for 2, I sometimes order pizza. When I do it's always well done extra cheese. I was delivered a regular pie. But to say the cheese melted away when the pizza delivered was not even well done was one of the stupidest things I've ever heard. Actually insulting. Matt then told me he would put a discount on my account for the missing cheese, witch was also ridicules. Mats adatude was horrible, acted as if he was doing me a favor? Then he said he would send another pie but I had to go to work and did not have the time to wait. So I told him to refund me the money and I'll drop off the pizza. He said no, he can only make me a new pie. So I just said no ill try to eat what you sent gotta go to work. I had a slice and My girl had one, cold and not good. Called back and said I'll drop off this nonsense you sent. His addatude us horrible, his melted cheese comment was unreal. I offered to pay for the 2 slices, refund me the rest he said no. No store credit, nothing. His addatude was the worst part. He should not even be able to manage organizing garbage. No people skills. No customer loyalty. The owners would be better off having a monkey managing their store. Matt just lost them a good customer. My order was wrong and even though I dropped off their wrong pie, I was charged, insulted and basicly robbed because I paid for their mess up. Their food is usually very good. But Matt should be fired and his addatude will eventually catch up with him, I have no dought....

The most gorgeous, and elevated pizzeria /restaurant in the area! They have so many cool options and twists for pizza! Been coming here for some delicious pizza to go for a bit! The staff is so nice whenever we come in, all the team members are so on point and work swiftly as they get super busy!

The food is incredible- my favorite in the area!! They have such a wide range of pizza which is so rare to find ! They also have really good broccoli and buffalo chicken pinwheels . For pizza, the grandma ,Caesar salad, artichokes, Sicilian and buffalo chicken slices have all been phenomenal! I also like that they have truffle pasta and fries (have yet to try!)

Ambiance The three seating areas are perfect-one for casual pick up and eating,one large dining area in the back with table staff, and one even large dining hall for private event.s I love the gorgeous private dining room with a beautiful light fixture , where I went a few years ago for a christening .Their dining room for guests is so modern and chic with lovely selection of chairs-it really sets the tone.

For the casual seating I really enjoy the custom banquet benches and the oak wood beams -they did such a good job with them, its so modern and comfortable!! Firing off on...
