Brown Bag Express — Restaurant in Town of Hempstead

Food was amazing and fresh. I tried the turkey and provolone on ciabatta bread sandwich with a chipotle sauce (I believe it was) and it tasted amazing. Everything is pre-wrapped hence the name Brown Bag Express, so you can quickly pick up breakfast/lunch (what have you) quickly. There's also a back entrance/exit that leads to the Oceanside train station platform, and was informed they have speakers inside that pickup the train announcements for those cold days you don't want to be waiting out on the platform for your train.

Salads were also great and fresh. Mermaid salad and the Thai style salad were different, as well as the overnight oat cup too. Which were soaked in milk, yogurt and apples. I have never been here and my husband and I decided to get lunch.

The first thing I noticed was how clean and organized it is.

It truly is a grab-and-go setup. Everything is pre-made and packaged on the far wall which is chilled. There is a coffee area to the left and the register to the right.

They have a counter area with 4 or 5 stools for dining.

My husband got the southwestern chicken salad, which comes with chips and guac. There is no dressing.

I got the "Little Italy" sandwich: marinated chicken, red peppers, garlic aioli and cheese on ciabatta.

Came in to grab a quick bite with my girlfriend on our way to the beach. Tried the Getta and Egg sandwich, the Italian Chicken sandwich, a banana nut muffin, the “stoner crunch”, a PB Oatmeal Whoopie Pie, and some dark chocolate peanut bark. Everything was delicious, and the banana nut muffin was one of the best I’ve ever had (and I don’t usually like when places put nuts in banana things).
