Sagas - Asian Fusion Gourmet — Restaurant in Town of Hempstead

Really authentic Szechuan for the area in my opinion. Many dishes remind me of many places in Queens we used to go to. Sagas offers traditional and more unique dishes. Soup dumplings are great and not offered at too many places nearby. They also have rice cakes which are awesome and not part of the usual menus at most places. They also use Szechuan peppercorns in some dishes which is really great and unique and offer great flavor and is a really distinctive spice. I don't know any other place nearby that uses it. They can also alter the amount they use if you want the super peppercorn effect or mild. Prices are very fair and they give good portions. Overall highly recommend to try this place. We ordered a variety of dishes sesame chicken, it was ok not much sauce on it very little broccoli, chicken and eggplant not very good … seems like they use a lot of ready made ingredients, lomein not much taste , pork fried rice same not much taste , wonton soup ,ok not much taste wonton was good though, pupu platter chicken skewers were very good everything else food service quality . They did give us free sweet and sour chicken again food...

I ordered vegetable dumplings and half of the dumplings had shrimp in them, I'm a vegetarian so this was highly disappointing. The vegetable ones were filled with hard flavorless chunks of vegetables that tasted like they came out of a frozen bag. The fried rice was also flavorless and just tasted like oil.
