I took my brother to get coffee for his birthday since this shop is one of his favorites. We went in and ordered two coffees. There were no cup sleeves so the cup by itself was hot and slippery. Upon getting in the car I spilled the hot coffee all over myself and the car. I went back in and explained to the man working the counter what happened. He apologized for the inconvenience, took my original coffee which still had some left in it, threw it away, made me a new coffee and then proceeded to charge me for it. Way to make a stressful situation even more stressful. We will no longer be returning or recommending the business.
edit Editing this review because the owner changed their original response. I emailed the owner after the original response and never got a reply. Also, I do not believe any footage was reviewed. I came back into the shop in a rush, told the man I spilled the coffee and said “I will pay for it if I HAVE to” out of courtesy. That was the first thing I said. At this point, he has not even started making the drink. I did not offer to pay for it during, or even after the drink was already made as you implied. Read moreSo it’s been quiet a while since I’ve come here. Todays service was out of the bag. I first was going to pay for my food in cash , 2 $50 bills and one of the persons there said that they couldn’t break the bills so I said okay whatever I’ll pay half cash and the rest on card… rewinding back to the beginning .. as I’m ordering my food, she starts coughing and biting her nails in front , while the food and coffee is being prepared and on her Apple Watch whilest taking my order. Please make that make sense .. second issue, another customer came in after me and asked for change to break her $100 bill… so y’all mean to tell me you guys couldn’t break it for me then but someone else broke her bill. Thirdly , I’m disgusted at the fact that I’m now waiting a hour for my food that was ordered way ahead of time, and I asked the same girl that was in the front how much longer for the food to be done, so she went to the kitchen and came right back out with my food a whole hour later.. I only order 4 things and 2 of them were the same .. it doesn’t take that long for avocado toast to be done and now my food is cold. What service is that? I also totally respect supporting small businesses (I literally said I’d rather give you my money than Starbucks). I only mentioned the price because, as a customer, it caught me off guard especially with a $1.75 charge for ice. . It wasn’t a dig, just honest feedback from the customer side. Appreciate the transparency in your response, even if it felt a little intense for a compliment 🤷🏻♀️ and since when is maintaining ice so you dont poison them not the cost of doing business? I’m paying extra for you not to poison me? That’s health code compliance not a noble act of public service.
I really enjoyed my bacon egg and cheese and Nutella iced coffee. Lost a star because by the time I was done ordered my coffee they hit me over the head with $5 in extra charges just for getting almond milk and because I wanted it iced. $13 for a latte.
