Buff Patty Restaurant — Restaurant in Town of Hempstead

Few weeks ago I placed an order on Grubhub which was totally screwed up. Instead of just getting back my money, which I could have easily done through Grubhub, I courteously called the restaurant to complain. The person on the phone, which I should have written down her name, apologized profusely and promised to really "fix me up" the next time I would place a Grubhub order. She promised to give me double next time to make up for the disappointment. Well, today, I called to inquire if this offer still stood. No one remembered and the manager apologized for the past mistake but said that she would not be able to honor this offer. She said that if I could come by the restaurant, however, she could see what she could do. The restaurant is all the way in Elmont and I live in Freeport! I have NEVER been there in person, only ordered through Grubhub. Never again will I order from this place again. These are people who on top of not following simple directions from customers' orders, they do not...

When I'm feeling for exceptional back home Caribbean food, there's just one place I head to, Buff Patty Restaurant of Hempstead, just over cityline to Queens. Like at home, when you enter into this space you are received by a big welcoming smile. The tropical food aromas whiffing through the air... I hope you decided what you want to order ahead of time because the appetizing scents will make you wild with indecision and seeing the hot buffet style Caribbean food steaming in front will make you want a helping of each selection. My all time fave are the chicken soup, oxtail with rice n peas with steamed cabbage. Third time purchasing a medium saltfish with fried dumplings on a Sunday and only receiving 3 dumplings instead of 4; when I purchased this same meal during the week I get 4 dumplings. The two ladies that are there on Sundays are not pleasant nor friendly it's just next, they take your order then tell you the price, puts bag on counter, takes form of payment then gives you back your card/ change with receipt. Everytime they're taking out the dumplings they're always looking up to see if I'm looking at them. Today the saltfish is the size of a small I should've just ordered that instead because a small meal comes with 3 dumplings. I don't know if they're bias and prejudice because I'm not Jamaican.
