Cassidy's Pub — Restaurant in Town of Hempstead

Made the mistake of coming here after our work holiday party that was down the block...seating at the bar was full, so we made our way over to a table-with zero acknowledgement from anyone who worked there, and there were at least 3-4 ppl working behind/near the bar. We sat down and were approached by a clearly annoyed young lady who said the kitchens closing in 30 mins but I'm also leaving, but if you want food I have to stay, like our coming here had somehow inconvenienced her. For the record we had no intention of eating, but could've avoided that unpleasant interaction if she had just asked if we were interested in food. One of my friends was just browsing the juke box, just looking at the selection, and was reprimanded by the bartender because football was on and they weren't playing music, she like screamed at him from across the bar. Id like to give ppl the benefit of the doubt, maybe she screamed Cause she was far away, and wanted to make sure she heard him, maybe she didn't want him to spend the money since the music wasn't gonna play, who knows- I just know from the moment we walked in, it felt like such a burden for this place to have a party of 5 walk in. I love a good neighborhood bar, no frills, you get your drink and you just hang out, rude people though- I have zero tolerance for. One star is a generous rating if you ask me. It's a great place to enjoy a game or just have a beer and socialize along with the small dining area depending on the time of day that you go. On the particular day I went there were 9 young children and 4 parents, which I don't recommend a good place for children to eat as a family restaurant. I recommend the family friendly places for children to eat such as Friday's, the green turtle and such other places that are family-oriented places to eat. If you're looking for a quiet atmosphere maybe elsewhere would be suggested for you. Then again if you don't mind the background noise it's just as good as a cozy place to have a bite to eat and...

The bar and food are good I've been here before just very disappointed in the staff. We came in here with my two children and my wife and father-in-law looking to grab a drink and put the kids at a high top near the bar to eat and color (Within NY State Laws). The bartender proceeded to give us a lecture on our parenting. And wouldn't serve us drinks. The bartender's name was NOT Karen. We like Karen! This bartender had a English accent. NOT FAMILY FRIENDLY.

Bars we go to with NO PROBLEM coming as a family and relaxing. It's okay. We took our hard earned money down the block to Paddy's Loft.
