I hate reviews of local places by 'townies' who have been there a hundred times.... That's not this review... I'm genuinely surprised that this place is in Merrick. Blue Waters isn't good - It's surprisingly great. We ordered 6 different menu items and 5 different cocktails, EVERY item was top notch. Grilled Halloumi was great, such a simple dish executed perfectly. We ordered the Langostino (essentially giant craw fish) special and it was very tasty. I hate to compliment a simple menu item - but how do they have the freshest best oysters (which though they were Bluepoint - it didn't seem like the everyday Bluepoint oysters you get everywhere else), maybe among the best oysters I've had in a restaurant.... On a Tuesday in July nonetheless. Calamari perfectly done. Octopus, again a perfect dish we'd probably order every time. As my Greek wife said about dessert "it's like there's a Greek grandma in the back making these". We ordered other things and they were all good, really zero criticism, zero suggestions on what they can do better. Cocktails were all great also, watermelon martini that tastes like actual watermelon. Dirty martini made perfectly dirty. Strawberry martini super fresh. Great espresso martini to end with. Honestly everything was so good we ended up ordering much more than we normally would. The waiter was fantastic, very professional, clearly has a passion for his work. This restaurant is in a strip mall, it's very small, you may look at it and wonder if it's what you're looking for - the food stands on it's own in this unassuming location. You would expect this quality of food in Manhasset or Manhattan... I'm looking forward to the 3 minute drive when we come back soon. If you're in...

Ok one thing did change others have found my favorite spot. Amazingly, the food here is still consistently delicious. The beet salad with hummus is one of my all-time favorites. Well second to the lamb chops. They offer a prix fix lunch and dinner. A true value!
Folks, if you love Mediterranean food, this is going to be a favorite of yours. This is a tiny place packed with a great big punch of flavor. The food here is so fresh. They make a great cocktail and the employees are very pleasant. They are fairly new to the area, but once you taste their food, it is clear that someone has been in the food business for some time.
I'm going to hate when people find out about this little gem, and I have to wait to get in. Please go to their website they offer lunch specials daily and have a prix fix dinner. I have only gone a few times, but seeing they're reasonably priced, I may have to go at least every other week. If you don't over eat, leave some room for their greek yogurt...
Read moreDesperately needs a chef who knows how to use Mediterranean spices that make each dish "authentic", not only a bowl of salt. Lentil soup tasted like a Mexican pinto bean with carrots that don't belong there instead of what does. Shrimp Santorini was nothing more than large shrimp with a few bits and pieces of feta "sprinkled" along with a can of tomato sauce instead of having the feta comprising the sauce, especially requiring a bay leaf or two simmering as well as kefaloteri cheese. As an international chef who prides herself on Mediterranean cuisine,. having travelled extensively in that region of the world, their specific spices are what MAKES each dish. The Ecuadorian chef at Blue Waters needs to take himself to the Greek Islands or buy a cookbook!!! Gave that back and got ROAST LAMB - not the watery like pasta water steamed bits and pieces, no boned shredded I don't know what they're passing off as "Roasted lamb shank minus the shank or appropriate orangey colored usual sauce comprised of potatoes, tomatoes, etc. I actually went to a pizza place to rid my mouth of the salt shaker...
