Emilia — Restaurant in Town of Hempstead

Thought we would go visit to give it another shot being that it is 3 blocks away. Besides the warm greetings at the entrance by the ladies, everything else was very disappointing. Luis didn't seem very happy serving us. Was too busy with larger tables and unhappy probably because we didn't order wine. We saw others being served a bread basket We requested for one. Came with the meal which was too late. When I reminded Luis, he angrily said "its coming". We ordered 3 dishes. Zucchini meatballs. The dish was literally dumped on our table. They were ok - probably the best dish we ordered. Side marinara was sweet. as some other reviewers have pointed out. Grandma Pizza special. Was cold, bready and soggy and tasteless. We ate some and had the rest packed so I could "fix it" before having it for lunch. Pesto Pasta special with a blob of Burrata and shaved Pistachios - Could taste nothing but cream. The burrata looked good but didn't do anything to the taste. Made it even more creamy. For $32 it was very disappointing.

We were so upset, paid the bill at the counter and walked out. I made the ladies aware of our displeasure with the meal. Place was loud and not ideal for a nice dinner out with your wife. This is a true assessment.

After hearing about this restaurant we went this past Saturday w 10 people. Def need a reservation for a Saturday eve. I found the food to be just ok. Maybe even a bit underwhelming. The calamari salad special was good as were the baked clams. Rice balls were nothing special. Disappointing pizza. The red sauce overly sweet and the pizza was not crispy at all. My ravioli was at best tasted like it was from a package (cheese included). The ricotta was disappointing. Needed more sauce. Their special pasta was good pasta but very sweet sauce. Didn’t work. I came here with my coworkers who recommended the place based on the good reviews here. The food was good, the inside is small and tables are very close to one another no privacy really. The owner was very rude! We ordered appetizers, food and then dessert and coffee. The owners friends were sitting outside at a table. He decided to bother us because he needed the table for them so he open the blind so the sun was right in our face, we continued to carry our conversation and we had just gotten our iced coffee so he told us that he need the table?
