Polka Dot Pound Cake — Restaurant in Town of Hempstead

I am fortunate to be able to see this lovely family-owned bakery grow since way back 3 years ago when I first discovered this treasured charm in this lovely RVC town.

Lisa bakes the best croissant original and etc. perhaps everything (perhaps the best I’ve had in my life having been to a lot of prominent bakeries here and abroad (hers is not greasy at all, perfect balance of flakiness and but flavorful buttery (I guess no need to go to Paris or Germany for this ;)) and I’m not exaggerating, ( almond croissant is also a hit), and I have recently tried her cinnamon bun (in my opinion, the best i’ve had! not usually a big fan of cinnamon buns but hers is mouthwatering,( perfect for those crisp autumn mornings with a sip of a hot coffee ). Her pound cakes and soft warm muffins (some among my favorites, lemon blueberry, pumpkin and apple cinnamon, and her warm apple cinnamon cruffins. I’ve also had her pies, tarts, cookies, scones in the past and you can never go wrong with any of her freshly baked stuff made with love.

I can’t help but swing by this bakery during some of my morning strolls and grab some of her warm thoughtfully baked goodies. Very pleasant ambience and music and greeted by her lovely staff, herself whenever. Despite her being busy in the kitchen and counter all the time running around, she never fails to greet her customers by name with warmth and a smile.

This has undoubtedly been one of the special bakery spots I hold dearly to my heart and for those who loves warm high quality delicious baked goodies, you would not want to miss...

A million stars! First, let me start by saying that I’ve never been to a bakery that entices you with the most delicious smell upon walking in! The bakery is gorgeous filled with lots of antique fixtures and vintage wallpaper. Everything has beautiful storage and you feel like you’re transported into a different time era. The staff is so nice and so accommodating. The maple scones are excellent! I’ve never had scones in my life that were so soft on the inside and perfection on the outside. They weren’t overtly sweet either which was perfect! The thumbprints are fantastic. The chocolate cookie sandwich was also excellent! I love that they offer various other deserts such as freshly- made cakes and coffees! I highly recommend this place and cannot wait...

We won raffles for free Polka Dot Pound Cake coupons from a Comedy for a Cause event to benefit Head Trauma and boy, I'm so glad we did! First off, thanks to Polka Dot Bakery for generously giving free Pound Cake Coupons for a great cause!!! We had to travel 35/40 miles to get to the bakery in Rockville Center. We picked out 4 different flavored Pound Cakes! Some with coupons... Apple, Lemon, Cinnamon and Chocolate Chip... Sampled them over the weekend with some hot coffee and let me tell you, they were DELICIOUS!!! What else can I say? Highly Recommend this quaint little bakery... 5 out of 5 Stars!!! FYI... I never write reviews but felt I needed to in this case. LOVE this bakery and the Scones and Pound Cakes...
