Simply put - THE BEST!!!! Our 88 year-old mom has had about 10 falls over the past few years and other issues that lead us to the realization that our mom needed help with her daily living. Our mom is a lively, kind, witty, friendly and alert 88-year old but her body is not as lively. Her doctors did not think it a good idea that she go back to her basement apartment with an aide - they felt that she needed to interact on a daily basis with her peers in order to keep her brain alive. They suggested an assisted living facility. We did not know what to do - we were upset, baffled and worried about our mom and reluctant at 'putting her in a place'. We all work and could not accommodate her in our homes. I prayed and prayed for an answer. My husband suggested that I call Maple Pointe but I told him there would probably be no availability. I knew one or two people in our community who had their moms living in Maple Pointe and they had nothing but rave comments about it. He urged me to call and I did - Susan Ehrlich answered and immediately said 'yes we have room for your mom'. We were able to get an appointment with Susan that weekend to tour the facility. Myself and my two brothers toured and said not one word to each other during the visit. When we left the tour, we just looked at each other and we were sold. Our mom has been a resident since 11/11/2020 and the transition has been nothing but seamless. Tammy Marshall is the best and her staff (Susan, Kara, Melissa, Sara, the nurses, receptionists, personal care aides, chef, and everyone else I did not mention) are phenomenal. The facility is spotless and welcoming. Maple Pointe has a homey feel and the staff knows the family members of their residents by their first names. During this horrid time of COVID, we have to rely on the staff to help us with things that we would normally be doing for our mom but can't. Whenever we call , they never say 'no' - the answer is always 'yes we can do that'. When my mom first arrived, there was an adjustment period not for my mom but for me and the staff was patient and walked me through my personal anxieties the entire time. Love, Love, Love this assisted living facility - it's home and the staff is now our family!!!! We are beyond thrilled with our decision to move our mom to Maple Pointe. We all sleep better at night knowing that our mom is safe, thriving and in the hands of the staff at Maple Pointe - the answer...
Read moreAfter a fall at home at almost 90 years old, we had to make a decision to move our mom into a place that would be safest for her. I contacted Maple Pointe, and a tour was quickly set up with the administrative staff. All questions were answered, I was taken thru the entire property and met several staff members, and a few residents. The day mom moved in was a bit overwhelming for her coming from rehab, but the staff and many of the residents have made her feel welcome and at home. In the short time she has been there, she is a different person for the better. She has involved herself with daily activities, and the activity staff keeps her engaged and she enjoys what she does. Maintenance and housekeeping keep her living space clean and safe. It is taking mom a bit of time to get used to help after being independent for so many years, but the aides and nursing staff have been patient, caring, and attentive to her. She also loves the food, and enjoys trying various choices on the menu. You are always greeted by a warm welcome any time you walk in to the front desk. Along with the amazing care they give mom, the staff has been very helpful to me. Whether it was needed paperwork from the administrative staff or questions for the wellness center, everyone helped me quickly and thoroughly. Even the residents and their families have been very friendly and welcoming to us as the new family. The building itself is designed for comfort. It feels like a boutique hotel, with different themes on every floor. The place is always kept clean and organized, and set up with safety in mind. The outdoor garden is a nice place to relax. I had toured other Assisted Living properties prior to us deciding on Maple Pointe. While others were nice, Maple Pointe just felt a bit more...
Read moreMy mom has been a resident of Maple Pointe for the past four years and I must say that it has been the best decision that I have made both for my mom and myself. Mom has totally accepted her new lifestyle and seems to really enjoy the staff and and the entire Maple Pointe community. I can go to bed at night not worrying whether she is alright or needs anything because I know that Melissa's staff is on top of any situation which may occur. If there is any issue I am always informed immediately and made aware of the issue and what is being done to rectify it. Mellissa K. has done a fantastic job since assuming her new role and seems to know every resident in a very personal way. She has made MP a very cheery place both for the residents and visitors. All holidays bring a new look to MP---Thanksgiving, Chanukah, Christmas, Fourth of July --all the floors are decorated with the theme of the holiday and seems to lift everyone's spirits. I can only speak for myself but Mellissa's wonderful demeanor and real concern for my mom makes me feel at ease when I am not able to visit as was the case at the beginning of this crazy pandemic. I can go on but I think that I have said enough--I always give Melissa, her staff and the entire MP community an A + anytime I am asked about the entire MP experience. One final point---I forgot to mention that Melissa and her crew consistently try and keep the residents occupied whether its bingo, word games or the fantastic outside entertainers that are brought in to lift everyone's sprits. I couldn't have made a better choice than Maple Pointe and I am so...
