Last week my daughter wanted a burrito for her birthday dinner. We were tempted to go to a traditional Mexican restaurant but last minute decided after seeing so many mouthwatering Instagram photos that a birthday burrito Needed to be a little more extraordinary than the typical Mexican restaurant burrito and I must say, Fat Boys Burrito did not disappoint! We were greeted as we walked in by Adam who quickly explained the menu and their set up. As I began looking around (in a panic because I didn’t see tables to sit and eat at) Adam came back over and said if you’d like to stay and eat there’s a heated tent out back where there are tables that would accommodate my family. We placed our order for nachos, three burritos, two margaritas and some sodas (which are self serve) and headed out back to wait for our food to arrive. While we were waiting, Adam came over to make sure that we were comfortable and chat. He asked if it was our first time there and how we heard about the restaurant. We mentioned that we had read lots of reviews and chose Fat Boys because our daughter was in search of the best burrito for her birthday and that we were very excited to give them a try. Our margaritas arrived and were tasty and strong, just as I like them. The nachos followed shortly after. They were delicious but a little spicy for my youngest daughters. While the kids were picking on the nachos, Adam called me over to say that he would like to buy my daughter dessert for her birthday and offered several choices of tres leches cakes, I said it wasn’t necessary but he insisted and I chose the cookies and cream option. Our burritos arrived hot and huge. Only my husband was able to finish his, the rest of us took half home along with some extra Fat Boy sauce because it too was so tasty. As we packed up our food the staff brought out a generous slice of cookies and cream topped tres leches cake with a candle on a beautifully decorated platter while singing happy birthday to my daughter. Once her teenage embarrassment wore off we all sampled the cake despite being fuller than we could imagine from a half of a burrito. The cake was moist and amazing as was our first (and certainly not last) dining experience at Fat Boys Burrito in Bellmore. I knew this was a bit out of our comfort zone picking a counter service type of restaurant for a birthday dinner instead of our usual fancy sit down but it really was a great experience from which we left full, satisfied and really feeling like we had a wonderful family meal with attentive, friendly service. We can’t wait to get back and try so many other interesting combinations of burritos, bowls and salads! Unfortunately, I don’t have food pictures to post but if you follow them on fb or instagram there’s plenty of photos...
Read moreI had the opportunity to go to FAT BOY’S Burrito Co. in East Northport and my mind was blown! From beginning to end (I wish it never ended) it was great vibes! Everyone is so happy and chill (especially the staff!) So welcoming & warm. They have the music playing, a menu full of great eats and you know what I noticed? NO ONE was bored or disassociated on their cell phones. I looked around! Not 1 person on their phone! Everyone was enjoying their food and dancing in their seat while eating…you know, the happy food dance.
Read moreWOW!!! I have had food from one of their other locations before and loved it, but had never been here until the night before last (2/13/24), when I visited with my wife and two kids (4 and 2). The parking situation definitely needs some improvement, but that is literally the only remotely negative thing I could say.
From the moment we walked in, the service was above and beyond. We were greeted by the manager, who assisted us and took our order. Friendly and helpful beyond belief and great interaction with the kids. We placed our order, then went to go to the outdoor tent seating area. The manager asked if we would rather sit inside, as he was concerned if it was warm enough for us in the tent. It was a chilly night out, but it was not uncomfortable temperature-wise in the tent area.
I went to go inside to get the food, and one of the employees (I believe his name was Adam) was just walking out with some of our order. I again went to go inside to get the rest of the order, but he refused to allow me to do so and insisted that I sit down and enjoy the time with my family. He then went and got the rest of the order and brought it out to us and proceeded to make sure that everything was ok. I asked if he was one of the owners, and he said that he was not, he was just an employee. I was dumbfounded, as especially nowadays, you do not see this work ethic / mentality about customer service. He said that his mother instilled that work ethic in him, and he believes whole-heartedly in doing the best job that he can.
On to the food, I got the fish burrito, which was the typical fat-boy bigger-than-life size and it was delicious. My wife had the Bang-Bang taco and Crispy Chicken taco, both of which were Fat-Boy big and were delicious as well. The kids had chicken fingers and fries and they loved them. We also got an order of tater tots, which were hot, crispy, and perfectly salted. We had a few Jarritos sodas, and my wife had a margarita, which she said was absolutely amazing.
Overall, the food was great, and the service was...
