South Bellmore Deli — Restaurant in Town of Hempstead

Adding onto to that other reviewer. I was in the store earlier and saw the owner or employee become rude and combative to a person of color. A discount was offered to local workers, each of the workers received it except the young woman. The group of workers piped up and said it was wrong and she was with them as a co-worker but the owner refused to give her the discount as well saying he can control who gets it and why. The only reason why I assume is because the young woman looked different than her peers.

I get it, give discounts to whoever or whatever you want. But you can't choose to give everyone who works local a discount and then choose not to give it based on looks, race, or gender.

Do not support this business and I recommend finding a great local place around that embodies the ideals...

Don’t bother, doesn’t hold a candle to the original smith street. No wonder SMITH STREET DELI removed their name from the sign. I wouldn’t want my business to be associated with this place either. Every few months or so I try to stop in for easy convenience. I always leave saying never again, beside usually messing up the order in ways that are not edible for some to the slow work ethic and lousy employees. How long do scrambled eggs take? 5 mins max. Not 25, not 35. They keep taking orders before finishing waiting customers creating a back log or orders they can’t make then get angry when you ask where your food is. The other smith street on smith street has A plus service on every front. That is a professional establishment that this place could learn a thing...

THE FOOD IS ALWAYS MADE FRESH AND FOR A LOCAL DELI…….!!!!!!!!! “THIS IS THE PLACE TO GO TO. !!!!!!!

Great parking, great food , great soups and “souper” special granted requests for any sandwich requested ………. This is a 5* deli The last time I was there on 5/13/25 , I had one of the best Mac and cheese specials of (1) 1/2 lb, (I ate it all the way home !!!!!!!!!!

I also got the best SOUP in the world of chicken orzo. When they cook soup…………..they do it RIGHT!!!! The store is a little hidden though, but it’s exactly next to the Bellmore Veterinary building on it east side The deli has plenty of parking and WELL WORTH going to for food . They COOK everything!!!!
