I get it was Christmas Eve and clearly NO ONE wanted to be there but it’s no excuse. The whole experience was horrible. As soon as we sat down an older waiter comes over “Drinks?” Doesn’t even say hi, how are you? We order drinks, he comes back quickly and then said “You order now?” Doesn’t say anything, just walks away. Food comes out way too slow. Penne was a little chewy, salad was just eh. By the time the main course comes, it was DISGUSTING. Totally inedible. The chicken was so burned, dry, crunchy and just nasty. My husband’s food was cold and his steak wasn’t cooked right. I tried for almost FORTY minutes to get our non-existent waiter. I asked two other waiters for the manager at this point to send back the nasty food. They kept telling me “it’s busy it is Christmas Eve”. Finally a manager comes over, I demand the chicken come off the bill and since we did the pre fixe menu, I said I want my dessert to go. The waiter comes back over and asks if we want water!! No! I said I want the bill and leave! I hand him a gift card from the actual restaurant (the ONLY reason we went in the first place) and a visa gift card. I try to explain there’s only 50 on the visa and he walks away. Comes back and says “Card no good, you give me better card”. I asked why? He grunts and walks away! Brings back another guy and rudely POINTS to our table. This guy says the card can’t be used in restaurants and to go to the gas station next door. Then he asks what kind of tip we were planning to leave. I said “Not much, the service sucks” he goes “Oh come on don’t cheat us, it’s Christmas Eve and we pool our tips together so you cheat one of us, you cheat all of us.” He then WRITES on the paper tablecloth figuring out the tip. I said “I’ll leave a tip I deem worthy. Here’s my card, run the balance.” Another 15 minutes go by, they bring the dessert (which we left for fear they spat in it) and we pay. I have pictures of everything!! I want my money back or I’m filing charges!! I did NOT authorize you to run more than I signed for!! HOW DARE YOU!! You should...
Read moreDon't order the bruschetta chicken and do look presentable otherwise the manager will walk past you. I came here today because I took the wrong train and had to get off at Seaford. I had just come back from work and therefore was wearing sneakers long black pants and a sports sweater. After all it was a Friday night and I was hungry. I was already being picked up so I offered to buy my ride dinner.
We sat down a quickly ordered everything we wanted. We got an appetizer sampler: 4 baby clams which were over cooked and too small to really taste, three supermarket bought mozzarella sticks, one small but decent tasting eggplant parm and a large serving of calamari. Nothing really stood out as amazing. My fiancé and I decided to share a personal pizza and a chicken bruschetta dish. After waiting about 20 more min and watching the manager ask all the other tables how their food was, our plates had finally come out.
To my disappointment, the chicken bruschetta was simply a bland piece of chicken cutlet with some pale, dry tomatoes, purple cabbage and lettuce all chopped on top. I've only tasted frozen pizza a few times and even that was better than the pie we got. I managed to eat a slice and even humored my now disappointed fiancé into having another bite of the chicken.
Defeated and waiting for someone to ask us about our meal, a bus boy comes to our table and ask if we were finished. We told him we couldn't finish the food and that we were not happy with it. He then took the half eaten chicken and 7/8th of the 10" pizza back to the kitchen without question or reply. When our waiter returns he looked surprised that we had already finished our meals. I explain that a normal bruschetta dish is usually made with bright red juicy tomatoes marinated in basil, garlic, olive oil ect, nothing like what we were served. He nods and quickly gets us the check.
Again the manager was no where to be seen. We pay the full check and walk out still hungry and confused as to how a 4 star yelp restaurant would serve a salad topped chicken and call it bruschetta. Perhaps we didn't look fancy enough to sit at this restaurant and they couldn't wait for us to leave. Or maybe we didn't look like we could afford our meal. Regardless of why we were neglected, it's safe to say we won't...
