Sorry to say but this place is subpar to Red Eats in Maine and even Luke's Lobster in Manhattan. I'm giving this place 4 stars only because they let me bring my dogs into the outdoor sitting area :) I think the restaurant as a whole deserves 4 stars, but their lobster roll deserves 3 stars.
A few things going for this place: excellent service, fairly fast, extensive menu, and they have little neck clams.
We ordered the lobster roll, lobster bake, new england clam chowder, corn on the cob, and a dozen of little necks.
The lobster roll was not balanced at all. Too much bread. The bread they use is a hot dog bun, terrible!! It's not even toasted. Luke's lobster at least toasts their bread with butter and seasoning. Red Eats in Maine does something similar. The lobster they give you is also mixed with some kind of mayo/lobster spread. It doesn't allow the produce to speak for itself. Really disappointed with the lobster roll and how they chose to make it.
The lobster bake was good. It's just baked lobster, can't mess that up. Came with butter on the side. The lobster was already cracked for you so it was really easy to get the most amount of meat with littlest amount of effort. Awesome!!
The little necks were tasty. The "cocktail sauce" was flavorful and balanced the taste of the little necks. I had 0 sand whatsoever out of the 6 that I ate. Good job in cleaning them!!
The New England clam chowder was good too. Only issue was that the potatoes were a little too al dente for me. They do have a lot of clams in the chowder and it was somewhat thick. I think most people wouldn't have an issue with this dish.
Overall, I would not recommend this place for the lobster roll but recommend the other stuff on the menu. On the bright side, it's a pet friendly place and that's really awesome since you get to sit by the water and soak in the...
Read moreI’ve been trying to find the best lobster roll on long island and this place just wasn’t it. It completely missed the mark. I came here on a friday evening around 5:30 as it took almost 50 minutes to get to from where I lived. It was completely disappointing to say the least. I arrived and had gotten seated at a table with no umbrella in the blistering sun. I flagged down a waiter and asked to change seats. No big deal. I already knew what I wanted to order but never had a server come over as I sat there for 20 minutes. I finally waved someone over to take my order. I waited a few minutes until the lobster bisque came out in which I rate it a 7/10. It had nice flavor but lacked lobster pieces and was a little bit oily. I read many reviews on different social media platforms that the lobster roll was to die for. Boy was I let down. The warm lobster roll lacked flavor (even after putting butter on it) and for someone who does not use salt on pretty much anything, I had to add salt. It was so bland and tasteless. The pickle it came with was warm and the french fries were bland and needed salt or seasoning. Some pieces of lobster were chewy as if they were overcooked. The bun was underwhelming as it was just an un-toasted ordinary hot dog roll. The server never checked on our table once, and was completely unfriendly when he dropped the check off. For over $100 for two lobster rolls and two lobster bisque soups with no drinks (just water) it was not worth even half of that. I would never come back here nor recommend this place to anyone. The atmosphere was nice with live music but that’s about the only star...
Read moreI really enjoy coming here several times a year. Have come here all throughout the pandemic to try and support them.
Expectedly, prices have gone way up. Now that the customers are all back and full, the service is a bit lower than before.
The lobsters have come out lukewarm the past several visits and they don’t offer 1.5 lbs. It’s either the tiny triple 1.25 lbs or pay a hefty price for 2 lbs. (mkt early June was $63/lb.) They also split the tiny lobsters so it gets colder faster (and in my opinion t’s harder to eat when the lobster is split.)
Final comment is on the service. Our server, Ryan, took over 10 minutes to take our order. (felt much longer but I don’t want to exaggerate). He was no where to be found after he took our order. The only time we saw him again was when he brought us the food. He never brought us the water bottle we had to purchase because the city shut down the water supply. We had to ask everyone else several times for utensils, napkins, butter, beverages, etc. I patiently waited and tried to catch him but ended up asking for him long after we were done with dinner so we can pay the check.
He mentioned he was busy when he took our order. I’m sure he was. But, not having our waiter ever show up in the room throughout the whole dinner was not a good experience for us. I guess he was taking orders in several rooms. He should tell the diners who to ask for things in his stead so we are not constantly looking around for him.
All the other staff were very attentive and...
