Went to this restaurant with my family. We were having a nice birthday dinner for my son but then very disappointed in what happened. We hadn’t even finished all of our food and asked for a pitcher of sangria. We wanted to try it since we saw a lot of people drinking it and we had only drank water and juice for the night. The waitress said she couldn’t give us the sangria because they had reservations and needed the table for other customers. She said there was a time limit to our stay because of other reservations. She basically implied we need to finish our food and go. Meanwhile they had other tables around us that were only drinking and not eating. We hadn’t even finished our food! The other tables were not told they would not be served more food or drink because of reservations. I don’t know if it was because we were the only table with kids, but I was very disappointed because we also wanted to order dessert for the kids. My friend happened to walk into the restaurant and was waiting for a table with his group, the waitress said he had a reservation but it was not true. At that point we felt unwelcome and bad. We didn’t want to make a scene on my sons birthday dinner and decided to pay and leave. What was also upsetting is that my friend (who was waiting to be seated) , was not even seated at our table, his group was seated at another table! No one else was waiting! I will not be going back to this restaurant. I am a paying customer and to be denied an order is unacceptable. If I was the restaurant owner I would want to know that their waitress is denying clients orders. I never heard of such a thing. I believe this happened because we had kids with us and we were not drinking alcohol like the other tables….I will not be spending my money there anymore. It’s a shame a business would do something like...

Añañau Peruvian Cuisine in Island Park offers a welcoming escape to Peru with its cozy ambiance and community-focused vibe. From the Peruvian flag proudly displayed to the friendly staff, this spot feels like a warm embrace of Peruvian culture.

The menu is a flavorful journey, starting with the sopa de pollo—a hearty, comforting chicken soup that feels like a hug in a bowl. The seco de carne, a braised beef dish with cassava, was tender and rich, perfectly paired with its simple sides. The lomo saltado? A definite highlight. This stir-fried beef dish, with its mix of onions, tomatoes, and crispy fries, is satisfying and full of bold flavors that balance comfort and excitement.

The ceviche, while fresh and decent, didn’t quite hit the high notes I was hoping for. That said, it wasn’t bad—just a little overshadowed by the stronger dishes. However, the real star of the show? The alfajores. Hands down the best I’ve ever tasted. These delicate cookies, dusted in powdered sugar and filled with creamy dulce de leche, were nothing short of perfection. It was the kind of dessert that makes you close your eyes and savor every bite.

The service was attentive and warm, rounding out an overall great experience. While not every dish was a showstopper, Añañau delivers authenticity, heart, and some truly unforgettable flavors.

Must-try: Lomo saltado and those alfajores. Perfect for: A cozy meal, a Peruvian culinary adventure, and indulging in the best...

I came here on a random Friday for lunch and fell in love with this place. The portion of the meal was filling but that meal was well cooked and cooked with heart and soul! The servers were beyond accommodating and genuine people who were willing to ensure guests had a good experience. I came back a second time a few weeks later after craving the food and it was packed but once again, the food and service did not disappoint. This evening, we came back once again but this time with my entire family. Everyone enjoyed the drinks and the food and I proudly introduced the waitresses to my family who are such good hearted people. It’s very rare that you find a spot that not only serves good food and drinks but has a team that works tirelessly to make sure you enjoy the experience at their restaurant. I recommend this restaurant with the highest of ratings and I will continue to frequent it often. Thank you all for your wonderful, delicious and flavorful food, the great drinks but above all the heartfelt hospitality!! Hands down a truly...
