I'M BEEN VERY UPSET WITH THIS PLACE ON MULTIPLE TIMES. As a Filipino and a lover of Filipino food, I really gave this place multiple tries, but today is the last time I eat their food. On multiple occasions in the past when I tried ordering food, whoever answers the phone is just nasty. I understand we all have our bad days, but as someone that is also in the customer service industry, that is no way to talk to someone that wants to buy your food and support your business. Since it opened, I've ordered from Kabayan probably about 6 times and actually ate there once. I have to admit that the one time I ate there, it was great because I think the owner served my group. However, literally every time I ordered food to take out, it was not pleasant. On top of all that, the food is way over priced. Now on to today, my fiance (who is not Filipino) was over charged for our food. She picked up the food and being the polite person she is and refuses to have confrontation, she brought the food home and consulted me about it. Now this is what she ordered - Panicit Bihon ($8), 6 Pork BBQ skewers ($8 total, 4 of them was a combo deal and the 2 extra were $2+change per stick), and a side of vegetables. Now, I'm not great at math, but my fiance paid $35 total, which does not make sense. Knowing my fiance, she's willing to work things out, but like I also mentioned, she hates confrontation and she described the cashier as rude to the point she wanted to just leave because she wasn't treated right. Honestly, I wasn't surprised when she told me that. The cherry on top... I just wanted Garlic Rice with my Pork BBQ skewers.... BUT ALL I GOT WAS WHITE RICE, WHICH EVERY FILIPINO ALREADY HAS IN THEIR HOUSEHOLD. Thanks for opening my eyes Kabayan Grill. You have lost your business with me and will gladly go to Philippine Best in Hicksville to get my food. It's worth the trip. I miss Metro Manila, another Filipino restaurant that used to be down the street.

Kabayan Grill in East Meadow is where Filipino nostalgia meets cozy vibes and heartwarming hospitality. Walking in, you’re greeted by the delicious aroma of Filipino comfort food wafting from the turo-turo counter, where steamy trays of viands sit, ready to tempt even the pickiest eater. The dining area is bright and charming, adorned with festive parols and clean white furniture that invite you to linger. The crispy pata was the undisputed star—crunchy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and paired perfectly with that tangy soy-vinegar dipping sauce. The Jeprox was a delightful surprise, a salty, crispy treat that transported me straight back to breakfast in the Philippines. And the lumpiang shanghai? Perfectly golden, stuffed generously, and made even better with the sweet chili sauce. Beyond the food, Kabayan Grill stands out because of its people. The staff were warm and accommodating, making you feel like family, and the manager—a cheerful presence behind the counter—was the epitome of Filipino hospitality. He made sure everyone was well taken care of, a touch that elevated the experience from good to great. Whether you’re here for a hefty meal or to stock up on Filipino breads like pan de sal and cheesy ensaymada, this place hits all the right notes. Kabayan Grill doesn’t just feed you; it reminds you why Filipino food feels like home.

I hired Kabayan to cater my husband’s 40th birthday, and I couldn’t be happier with their food and service! They handled everything seamlessly, from setting up the buffet table to cleaning up afterward. The lechon was exceptional—crispy skin and juicy, flavorful meat. The party was from 12:30 to 4:30 PM, and while they usually arrive an hour before the event, the owner, Cherry, graciously accommodated my request to come two hours early so I’d have ample time to arrange my tablescapes. The food arrived separately, 30 minutes before the party, ensuring it was warm and fresh when served. Everyone loved the food (and the take-home goodies!), and the service was fantastic. Special shoutout to their server, Reggie! Cleanup was quick and thorough, leaving nothing to worry about. At just $28 per person, the price was incredibly reasonable, especially compared to hosting at a restaurant. I highly recommend Kabayan’s full catering service for anyone looking to simplify hosting a large gathering without compromising on quality.

PAY ATTENTION to what they charge you, the guy in charge seems to ju$t happily charging extra $$ in ur bill. make sure u ask specifics for whatever they're charging u. Their pricing is inconsistent, they have their own menu pricing behind the counter. The prices in menu by the table are misleading! Make sure u ask the prices before ordering cuz u will be surprise on how much extra stuff ur paying! and when u ask for details, the dude gets annoyed for questioning him!

also, they charge filipinos higher. one time I ordered their combo, I was told a drink wasn't included. Fine I paid extra. While I was eating, a white guy comes in & ordered the same combo, & asked if drink is included, & the dude behind the counter said drink was included in the price. I let it slide but just recently we were charged %20 service charge for dinning in. It was a %20 mandatory service charge for 4 people??!!! this was insane! kabayan restaurants in Queens doesn't charge %20 for dinning in for 4 people. Whoever is managing this branch should be ashamed! It has its own pricing compared to other Kabayan restaurants including the...
