La Bottega Oceanside — Restaurant in Town of Hempstead

When I called the man that answered said la Bottega Oceanside I said I wanted to place an order for pick up. He asked for my phone number and asked if my name was Christine and I said yes. He took my order and I paid with my cc. When my husband went to pick up the order the woman was very rude said no order here maybe you called long Beach. My husband told her I live around the corner why would I call long Beach? She kept saying no orders here. My husband called me and I told him the number I dialed which was the Oceanside store he kept telling the lady who hardly spoke English that I called there and a man took the order and i paid for the order. After insisting there was no order placed. My husband saw a bag of food on the counter and said is that it? All 6 ppl looked confused, the lady ripped the receipt off the bag that said MELISSA on it and said oh sorry. My husband checked to make sure it was our order but was missing the extra dressing that I paid for and then the guy said he took the order and I didn't ask for extra dressing, my husband said yes she did I heard her ask for the dressing like she always does and he argued with my husband until the lady finally just gave it to him. I don't know what happened to this place but I WILL NEVER ORDER FROM THERE AGAIN!! The employees are LIARS and very RUDE!!! No wonder it's always empty in there. I will admit bay I loved this place. The food is great!! Unfortunately, last time I went I ordered a Avocado Salad.... and it barely had any avocado in it. I asked the waitress why it barely had any, and she told me that it was "hiding" somewhere in the salad. I explained to her that it wasn't my first time ordering that salad and I knew what portion of avocado is usually in the salad. She told me that she couldn't do anything about it and if I wanted more avocado I needed to pay for it because they measure all the amounts of ingredients that they put into their plates. I only asked for what I paid for and the waitress refused to acknowledge the mistake. I did not go there expecting a handout!!!! Being treated as such has left me with a sour taste towards la bottega. I've been going there for a few years already, but after this experience I will no longer be visiting this establishment. I wanted to relay my experience at this location. We were going to a friends house and agreed that we would order and bring a platter of panini’s to help with the menu. My friend had called in advance and I went to the store to meet with Wilson and to discuss our needs. He could not have been more helpful…explaining the different types of breads for the panins and based on our head count, what he thought would be an appropriate amount of food. His guidance was spot on and the plan was to pick the tray up @ 10:30 am on a Sunday morning a ha,f hour after they open for business. The paninis were ready for pick up at that time so that we could get on the road and head east and they were superb! We were able to warm them up on the grill for a coupl£|?3 nds loved them and there were a number left which we enjoyed for dinner! The price and the quality of the sandwich can’t be overlooked.
