The long version: We worked with SVS jewelers to create a custom pendant for our mother as a gift for her birthday. This was a concept we were working on for 3 years, we had been to 3 other jewelers but they weren’t able to carry out the vision. After reading some great reviews we decided to give SVS a try. We scheduled an appointment to go over the details. We met with Chris and knew we made the right decision. Chris is knowledgeable about jewelry, he’s personable, communicative, and was genuinely excited to work with us on creating this piece. He listened to our stories and truly took the time to understand the significance of what we were looking for. We decided that day to start the custom design with them. Within a week we received the first render (which took other companies 3 weeks) and it was practically perfect. Chris took the time to review the render over the phone with us and proactively explained any changes or adjustments that were made to our initial vision. Even the changes they made were better for the overall design. We asked for two minor changes and were sent an updated render in less than a week. The second render was perfection. Also the quality of the render was impressive, there was a link that allowed you to interact with the image. You could zoom in and out, rotate the image, change from yellow gold to white gold to rose gold and there was no reduction in image quality or resolution. The render allows you to get as deep into the details as you choose. We approved the final render and made an initial payment on June 16th, the completed piece was in store ready for pick up on July 3rd — earlier than anticipated and right on time for us to gift it to our mother. It is stunning. From initial meeting to delivery, this process took a month and a week. In my opinion, for a custom piece of jewelry, this is very fast. To put the timing into perspective, we had worked with other companies that took 3 weeks for the first pass at an image, then when provided changes it took over a month to have a second pass. To have SVS create exactly what we wanted in a little over a month was unbelievable. Working with Chris was smooth, no pressure, no issues, he was an absolute joy to work with. There was never a time that we had to reach out for updates or information, he was on top of the project from start to finish. I use to go to this jeweler until they ruined my pendant that held so much significance to me. It had a small enamel eye fall out so I went to have it replaced. It should have been a very simple fix as it just needed to be filled with enamel. Instead the jeweler had no understanding of this and was searching for a replacement eye. He made it seem as though this was the only way to fix it so I sadly agreed to let him put this replacement in. In the process of adding this new piece they completely ruined the borders of the pendant. After being so unhappy they offered to fix it and this went on for months. Me going to pick up the pendant only to see how hideous it looked and them insisting it could be fixed and again and again it just kept looking worse and worse. I just got to the point where I picked up the pendant and now it’s in a box because it hurts me to look at it. Something I loved so much completely butchered because they didn’t understand that it only needed to be filled in with enamel. In addition to that horrendous incident the first time I went to this jeweler I was sold an adjustable necklace for a pendant with two hooks. This should have never been offered for a pendant like this as it is physically impossible to use the adjustable feature because the back clasp will show to the side or the front depending on how small the necklace is made. In order to attach this necklace to my pendant the necklace needed to be broken into two pieces to attach to each side of the pendant another terrible idea as this necklace can now never be put back together. And because of the type of chain it is it breaks very easily where they cut it so they completely compromised the chain. It’s had to be repaired 3 times already. This was not a cheap necklace and now I can’t fix it to use with a more appropriate pendant it’s absolutely ridiculous. And during one of the repairs they did for this necklace when I showed them how it’s not even on each side when I adjust the necklace they cut one side down and kept the additional chain they cut off when it was a part of my necklace and not there’s to keep. Unfortunately I wasn’t the one picking up the necklace and my husband did t think about the missing chain piece they never gave him. I would never trust or recommend this place. They clearly are not good jewelers and I have had two pieces ruined by them. Absolutely phenomenal first time experience that I had with SVS Fine Jewelry that made me say, “This will always be my go to jeweler from now on!”. Starting with Marissa, who helped me all the way up to my proposal! She was outstanding in every aspect! From the first time I called, to months later when I decided on which engagement ring I selected, size, and specific specs and size center stone I wanted from elsewhere. She remembered who I was and always did follows up when I requested. She did her research on my ring, had a sample sent in from the company rep and got me the center stone I wanted. SVS wanted to make sure I kept all warranty that included mounting in-house so I wouldn’t have to go all over the place taking care of my ring and worrying about mounting warranty, etc.. They went out of their way to purchase the center stone for me instead of me having to do it separately so I can maintain everything in-house with them. That right there, blew my mind that they’d purchase the center stone for me just to make my life easier. I also enjoyed that I was able to make my payments using Apple Pay straight from my phone with a link in a text! You can also do it in store as well of course. And… you can text them instead of calling and they get right back to you promptly to help you with all your needs! They have an amazing showroom with beautiful jewelry for all tastes. Cleanliness is superb, the staff, is amazing, the gentlemen in the back that do all the behind the scenes of fixing, cleaning, putting together the rings are awesome! We even got to sit inside with them after the proposal to see them do all the adjustments and everything to the ring, was a great experience. So overall, I have now been here multiple times and I have had an amazing experience with SVS Fine Jewelry and will continue to visit them for all my jewelry needs for a long time to come.
