I recently visited the GameStop in Oceanside, NY, and I have to say it was one of the best customer service experiences I've ever had, thanks to the manager, Jake. From the moment I walked in, Jake went above and beyond to help me resolve issues I had from a previous store. He approached every question with genuine care and extensive knowledge, making me feel like my concerns truly mattered.
Jake made some excellent suggestions about upgrading to a better Xbox system, which I initially decided not to go with. However, after thinking it over, I realized how spot-on his advice was and returned to see what he could do. He welcomed me back with the same level of enthusiasm and support, immediately finding me the upgraded Xbox I wanted. He even located some promotions to make the purchase more affordable and took the time to introduce me to the rest of his team.
It’s clear that Jake runs his store with pride and dedication, setting a high standard that more GameStop locations could learn from. The store itself was spotless, well-organized, and every promotion was easy to see, which added to the positive experience.
Jake’s knowledge about gaming systems and accessories is unmatched, and his kindness left a lasting impression on me. I can’t say enough great things about how he turned what could have been a stressful experience into a fantastic one. They’re very kind and explanatory. This review is for GameStop as a company. This has been the worst card grading experience I’ve ever had. I sware PSA set these guys up knowing it was going to be terrible. First, it was $16 to grade a card and it came back within 30 days, amazing. Then, a month later they make the price $19 (which is the same price as PSA) and it took 5 months, FIVE MONTHS to give my cards back and they were all 8s. Then, when it was time to pick up my cards I was excited and went to go get them an hour after I received the email they were ready and I couldn’t have them given to me because the manager wasn’t there… why did you email me then. If nobody but the manager can give me my card you should put that in your email so I don’t drive 45 minutes to pick them up….OR let the employees give them out??? I just don’t get it. I’m so DISGUSTED by this entire experience and business model. Also, there should be NO REASON that someone could be able to say, “oh that guy looks like a GameStop employee” and EVERYONE KNOWS EXACTLY WHAT KIND OF PERSON YOURE TALKING ABOUT.
