I wish my Mom read the reviews before she decided to purchase a stale and overpriced cake from here. My Father turned 72 and all he wanted was Bizcocho Dominicano. Not only was the customer service poor, there’s a lack of leadership and accountability.

My parents were impressed by the beauty of the cake, but it instantly fell apart upon cutting it. My Mom’s a baker so she saved face for my Father, but expressed her disappointment to me. My Father pretended to like the cake but complained about the excessive sweetness. The top layer of the cake was dry, burnt, and without flavor, while the bottom layer was wet (not moist) and pure diabetes. The pineapple filling was great, but the icing was a texture that feels wrong; it felt like Elmer’s glue and turns into an inedible rubber-like texture on day 2.

My Mom contacted the Bakery the next day. After being passed between clueless Cindy and Connie — who pretended to be confused and overwhelmed, they eventually told her to bring the day old cake back. My Mom was over it and I reminded her that some battles are not meant for us to fight. We accepted what happened and know that we’ll never return or recommend this establishment. I'd initially given this bakery a 5-star review because they were great about having my cakes ready when I'd scheduled them.

However, this time around, the Dominican cake that I'd ordered (I had initially ordered it on Monday, December 13th and confirmed its pick up on Thursday, December 16th for Saturday, December 18th at 6PM with a gentleman over the phone) was not even there when I came to pick it up on Saturday, December 18th at 6:00 p.m. even though they had said that my name was in the system for a dulce de leche and guava Dominican cake. Considering that I had to take an Uber all the way over there on a rainy evening for the sole purpose of being able to pick up my cake and go, that is not acceptable. Also not acceptable is them not having my name in the system even though they said that they did, as well as not being able to communicate amongst one another that the cake that I ordered would have been available.

WARNING steer clear away from this Bakery. I called and ask them do they have any fresh cake and they said they don't I had to come in an order a cake for the next day. I arrived and their was no customer their on a Saturday afternoon. As I arrived hey showed me a cake that was already made and told me that I can take this cake. I told him I wanted a cake made fresh. He said I will have it on. SUNDAY AT 11AM in the morning. I told him I wanted warm he said ok. It will be warm. I arrived 1144 am on Sunday and I brought my cake cutter with me and the cake was dry and cold . They cake must been sitting there a week. they refuse to give me my money back they are aware of people giving bad reviews. They actually don't care. They are not looking for customers satisfaction. They are only trying to look for money. I read the reviews before. It appears Google is not rating business properly. How can they call this a 4 star bakery with all the same complaints.
