My siblings and I went to this establishment today in hopes of having brunch however 40 minutes later and we were still not seated. My sister called yesterday to make a reservation for 5 people and she was informed that they didn't take reservations but, she told her she could put herself on the list the day of to get seated. When my sister tried putting her name on the wait list it didn't give her an option for 5 people. She called today before we went and spoke to someone about the issue and was told that we can come in and we would be seated right away since the girl misinformed my sister. We arrived at 9:53 am and we were told by Nicole that it would be 5 mins however, "5 minutes" turned into 10 and when by sister asked her after 20 minutes she kept saying "5 more minutes". When my sister approached her after 20 minutes she pretended not to see my sister and just walked away. We noticed other parties of 4 and 5 people coming in later than us, being greeted and seated right away. The only difference is they were white patrons. Us on the other hand weren't. If they couldn't accommodate us, then why make us wait 40 minutes and then be rude to us when we asked how much longer we had to wait? The waitress was rude to my sister and said, "she can't give us a time because she can't force people to leave." I'm sure she wouldn't speak to white customers that way. Needless to say, we left and went somewhere else where we would be accommodate and not made to feel like we weren't good enough for the establishment. I think it is despicable how this place is run and how rude the staff is to nonwhite customers. First off, don't misinform people about your policies, tell us you will accommodate us right away and then make us wait. Nicole purposefully misinformed my sister telling her we would be seated in 5 minutes and avoided her when she came back to ask her how much longer we would have to wait. I think it is wrong to mistreat people due to their skin color. I will be letting my friends know they should not come to this establishment and furthermore, this is not how you should be running...

I stopped by to try this restaurant for breakfast with my friend after seeing great reviews on yelp. The restaurant was very small but crowded when we arrived at about 10AM on a saturday morning. I was shocked that we were promptly seated because it looked like a full house but later I notioced that no one seemed to wait for a table ironically. The staff was very patient and helpful because we had a hard time decing on what to order. Initially we had planned to share an order of pancakes but after seeing that they charged a shared plate fee of $3.00 we changed our minds. For part of my order I wanted eggs with cheese but surprisingly saw no fee noted on the menu for adding cheese so I asked. (I was told that there would be a charge of about $1.00 but in the end I was billed $2.00?) I finally decided to order the "Old James" which were simply plain buttermilk pancakes. I also ordered their pork sausage with scrambled eggs which I soon regretted. The best part of my meal was the pancakes and I am very picking when it comes to pancakes. The sausage was some of the worse Ive had in any restaurant and tasted like it was made of mixed meats rather than plain pork and the eggs were cooked to hard. My friend had the southern belgian waffles which was simply fried chicken with waffles. She was not to happy with her meal because she said the chicken lacked flavor and there was not much of it. However, she did later say that the gravy that was served with her dish did help to add some flavor. Although I did enjoy my pancakes I dont plan to return to this restaurant simply because of their sharing fee. I felt the fee was a tactic that made no sense and mustve been done out of sheer greed! Sharing food sometimes when you dine with others is done often but I dont see how it dont see how it would cause a extra fee. As a consumer I realize that a restaurant owner has the right to charge what they please but I also have the right to go elsewhere where I can share my food...
