Roast Sandwich House — Restaurant in Town of Hempstead

This used to be my favorite spot in Hicksville for sandwiches. However, recently, the quality of their sandwiches has declined significantly; they are now both tasteless and overpriced. Additionally, the service has deteriorated, with young employees lacking proper customer etiquette. On a recent visit, my online order was left unattended and cold for 15 minutes while staff prioritized in-store customers. My order was not placed in the designated pickup area. I was also incorrectly charged for mushrooms, despite them not being an option in their sandwiches. If I had not requested a refund, this issue might have gone unaddressed. The quality of the meat has declined, and the overall taste is unimpressive. Unfortunately, I will not...

I visited the Hicksville location on 2nd January at 1:06 PM and had some surprising experiences. My total was $17.12, and that didn’t even include a drink. Here are my concerns:

Price Increase: I noticed prices went up. When I asked the server about it, she ignored me and focused on the register. After waiting, I finally got an answer from the Manager in the back. Tipping Issue: I overheard a discussion in the back about not receiving a tip, despite leaving a 15% tip. The table service wasn’t checked, so this was puzzling. Food Quality: The 1/2 panini was good, but it seems smaller than usual. The fries were excessively salty. Customer Service: As a regular customer, I didn’t feel valued—no recognition...

So I ordered a $6.63 egg sandwich from Roast, so I said that is a pretty expensive egg sandwich, but I'm assuming this place is going to give me a higher quality egg sandwich.... probably nice fluffy eggs (probably 3 eggs) on a higher quality bread (cibatta) cooked perfectly right??? WRONG this is what I got.... A BURNT, SALTY, likely ONE EGG "sandwich" because the cheese overwhelmed the egg, on a BASIC ROLL. When you overcharge for SIMPLE food, you better be better than average. Unfortunately, this wasn't even edible.... two bites and it went right in the trash.

I am truly beside myself over how much a simple egg sandwich could be...
