Sizzlings - Halal Hot Chicken, Burgers, and Gyros — Restaurant in Town of Hempstead

If you dont stop in here, you are doing yourself a disservice. The owners are so kind and warm which makes the place more inviting. Let’s talk FOODGASM! The smashburger! Holy heck. My taste buds were doing the happy dance. Its not your usual big smashburger. These are perfectly handheld and fulfilling. I got one patty and it was juicy, full of flavor paired with the perfect potato bun and their special house made sauce which was finger licking good. I even dipped my fries in it.

FRIES- lightly seasoned fries (not salty) had the perfect crisp on the outside. Sorry no pics - I inhaled everything it was that good! My only regret is not tying off this satisfying meal with a milkshake!

I am so happy they came to our town. Nice addition to the area with warm owners who take pride in their business. Dont let the small parking deter you. You can find parking. Inside has three tables where you can sit and enjoy other menu items such as chicken fingers, gyros, nashville hot chicken and lamb over rice.

Sizzlings was worth every minute of the 40 minute drive I took to see what the hype was all about, and by God I was absolutely blown away. I started with the triple smash burger and chicken sandwich. The patties would just melt in my mouth, while the chicken was exceptionally crispy and juicy. The sauce and choice of brioche buns compliments the dishes extremely well.

The waffles were the perfect way to end the meal. Crispy on the outside, yet soft and fluffy on the inside. Everything was delicious, and you can tell the owners have put so much real thought and care into every moving part of this operation.

Next time, I’m coming back to try the Philly cheesesteak and one of their milkshakes. Hands down, this is where I’m bringing all my friends when they visit the Island. I concur with all previous posters. The food looks exactly as pictured by others and is so good!!! We ordered the triple smash burger and fries and 1 chicken sandwich with an extra chicken filet on the side and fries. The people who work there are so friendly and hospitable. We’re definitely planning to go back and try other menu items.

09/16/25: I’ve eaten here several times and the food is always consistently delicious. The owner is so sweet and down to earth. There’s very little wait time until your food is ready. I tried the new Dubai strawberry cup and while it is pricey it’s worth it. So good!!! Treat yourself if you enjoy Dubai chocolate bars as the flavor is totally on point. She used high quality ingredients in all her menu items. For Jewish people, they are Halal certified. The only thing is, it would be nice if they had a children’s menu because the portions are too...
