This was a very hard one to review because I’ve see videos about this place and was looking forward to it. First, I want to say that Tulum itself both outside and inside extraordinary. The decor and just everything was on point. Going inside as a first time customer I was greeted by a wonderful host, enjoying the music while heading to the table. Looking at the menu, the waiter approaches and was hands down super attentive and gave recommendations. While still enjoying the music, the drinks came as well as the food. The drinks were okay. Now, this is where I have to be very honest as I always am with reviews. The shrimp aguachile was missing something and I was disappointed. From the taco platter, my favorite was the baja fish taco, smashed meatball and the tequila shrimp taco. (Don’t be shy adding more onions and cilantro for the birria and in the consume😉, a little more carnitas in the taco, the combo on the mahi mahi was no good) Next, was the nachos. OMG! One of the best nachos I have ever had with tequlia shrimp and barbacoa. Very flavorful and very delicious! Lastly, the twinkie tres leche could have been better. So as far as my review, the reason why I’m giving it a two star is only because I was not happy with certain foods and the drinks but the customer service was outstanding,...
Read moreIm always on the lookout for hidden gems, I had high hopes upon visiting this new restaurant. Unfortunately, what seemed promising quickly turned into a disappointing experience marked by a lack of transparency and misleading information.
Upon arrival, I was under the impression that the happy hour menu included both food and drinks. However, I soon learned—only after placing and consuming my order—that happy hour offerings are limited strictly to margaritas and select house shots. I was specifically encouraged to try the Cazcabel Blanco shots, which I later discovered were not part of the happy hour menu. This crucial detail was conveniently withheld until the bill arrived—$30 for two shots I was led to believe would be $10 total.
When I inquired about the confusion, I was told, rather curtly, “We’re not the Mineola location,” as though I should have known the inconsistency between locations. By the end of what should have been a relaxed, budget-friendly visit, my happy hour bill had totaled over $200—an experience that left me not only disappointed but misled.
In conclusion, if you’re looking for a reliable and transparent happy hour, I’d strongly recommend visiting the Mineola location instead. This one fell far short of expectations and is not one I can recommend to...
Read moreCame here for a late lunch. You can smell how clean the restaurant was from the parking lot. It smelt of fabuloso! The way they transformed this old friendly's is incredible! So well put together. The service from the moment you walked in to the very end has fantastic. The food was absolutely delicious. And the prices were very fair, especially the lunch menu. They are super generous with the protein too. We ordered a small order of nachos with barbacoa to start. Omggggg mouth-watering good. Packed high with meat too. I ordered the burrito and it came with a side of loaded curly fries. The red rice inside, I would order bowls of it. The carne asada was boldly flavored too. We ordered three types of tacos and each one did not disappoint. This is now one of my go to taco places! Save room for dessert...the stuffed churros were a hit. Stuffed with a cinnamon whipped like filling with a rich chocolate and cooked condensed milked that was almost like a light dulce de leche sauce for dipping. Definitely a must order. All the margaritas also can be ordered as mocktails too, so you don't feel left out of the group...
