We had dinner here last night for Valentine's Day, it was a last minute plan and they had reservations available. This was our first time here and upon arriving for our 8:30pm reservation, we were told that the tables were being cleaned and we would be seated shortly. After waiting 25 minutes and rethinking our decision to go out for dinner, we were finally seated. It took another 5 minutes for someone to bring us menus. We got specials paper menus that they said had a special menu for Valentine's day. I questioned it as I didn't see calamari on the special menu, meanwhile the couple next to us had it on their table so I asked if there was another menu, the waiter just said in a rude manner, we are using a special menu and was annoyed I asked. We ordered an appetizer, mussels and we ordered our entrees, hubby had the whole branzino and I had stuff sole. We thought the "whole" branzino would come as described and as seen on the picture on their website, when it arrived it wasn't the "whole" fish, just a filet. He said it was ok taste wise but he clearly didn't fully enjoy this dish. My sole was stuffed with crabmeat and it was also ok for food to pit something in your stomach but it wasn't savory or thst tasty. The scampi sauce that cane ontop if it wasn't really scampi sauce..i guess it was their own concoction. I left half of the fish on my plate and the waiter seemed shocked when he asked me if i wanted to wrap it, I couldn't say no quick enough! They we made a quick decision to get desset, we end up waiting another 10 minutes just to get menus, then had to call for our waiter to come and take our order, he finally came over another 5 minutes later. The woman who seated us (i believe she is sn owner) even pulled him aside to tell him to speed it up and pointed to our table, I guess she saw we looked annoyed. He snapped back at her saying he just removed our dinner plates, its fine, we haven't been waiting long....WRONG, We were waiting a long time! When the desserts arrived, we started to eat and wonder what happened to our coffees...by our last bite of cake, the coffee came out! It was so disorganized, we took a sip, asked for the check and got out of there as it was turning 10:45pm, it felt like the longest night! Based on our experience and it being Valentine's day, we may try it again at some point down the road but at least for the next few years, we don't see ourselves going back. There's some issues with service that need to...
Read moreI've never been to bellmore before.
I had a first date. And I was looking for a place that was open on the 4th of July. And found this restaurant.
It was a lunch first date
So I called me the reservation and told the hostess that it was a first date and could you please put us in a spot that is secluded romantic and quiet.
We open the place. So we had the choice of any seat we wanted really. Which was great I love it and they put us in a great spot and overlooking the deck and it's just a gorgeous deck. The interior of the place is really nice but if you can and if it's not too warm sit on the deck 100%
There was a breeze this day and it was about 82° and they also have ceiling fans which just make the space really comfortable at that temperature
Service was impeccable They were so gracious Stayed for 5 hours -- 5 hours! People came and went and it's like the world disappeared and the whole place was ours on the magical date that was helped by the staff for sure.
Clams on the half shell delicious
Stuffed soul 100% get this just get it it's so good if you like fish this is the one you should get
Encrusted almond cod I think it was almond. That was very good but I would choose the soul over that for sure.
Seriously you want to go on a first date and have a great time in a beautiful setting overlooking this little canal. Go here and make sure you call and tell them it's a first date.
The waitress / hostess even came over when my date went to the bathroom and asked how it was going.. I loved it. It was going fantastic I mean in 5 hours..lol
Anyway I will be back if I'm ever in bellmore again for that second date or any other date or even just for dinner or lunch or whatever. I can't wait to try other things on your menu. Thank you again
I didn't take as many pictures as I usually do because it would have been rude. It did snap a few and she went to the restroom.
Thanks again 5...
Read moreI wanna give this restaurant a two stars but bc our waiter andriano ( I believe Iâm saying correct , but not sure ) was so funny itâs the only reason Iâm giving it a three star. First off let me start by saying the atmosphere was beautiful, I went recently to a bridal shower... of course we where the only people of color there (Haitians ) we were celebrating the brides marriage and doctorate Degree. Anyway I did not appreciate the way the other waiters which was a short girl with a pony tail and a few guys . She was the only women waiter there, they were snickering at the party .. I mean if you want to talk about people ( AT LEAST) wait until they leave . Then we where told to use the French doors to use the bathroom as if we didnât know there was another group celebrating a baby next to us, I guess they figured we would walk through their shower đđ...
Also, Iâm not sure what these other reviewers where talking about but the food was Nasty. Living in Manhattan and having an Italian husband myself, Iâve had plenty of exquisite Italian food .. The mimosa was dry , the bread taste old , and the food wasnât hot . Then they served plates for three year olds smh . Not only that the owner keep coming out to see if we were done and a women was rude to one of the guest about face mask . Considering they wanted everyone to be Covid tested and NOBODY else eating had mask on at the tables I couldnât understand the big deal . I literally believe they were rude to us bc we where black people , the sad thing is most of us are doctors and teachers, who speak The Italian language fluently ..... it just wasnât a warm welcome and I will not be recommending this restaurant to any of my friends . It wasnât worth it . I never want to be in a space where Black people...
