The venue is a beautifully built establishment. It was very clean and staff was very friendly. I did have some issues with the way some things are done. The wings we had were large and perfectly cooked. The only issue was, it came with a mediocre Buffalo sauce and blue cheese dressing. I am not sure if this is throughout the restaurant . The couple of booths were full so we sat in the back. Which seemed to be more caual. There were metal stools and metal chairs. Not very comfortable. There was no table service, you had to order at the bar. There are no menus! You have to scan a code into your phone to look at the menu. Why? I like to hold and look at a menu. My biggest disappointment was when I ordered a beer. The beer was served it in a plastic clear cup! What? You kidding me right? Am I at a street fair or a bithday party at someone's house? They did provide me with a glass when I asked for one. The other issue was after the food was delivered to us by the bartender, it did not come with any silverware. When asked for silverware they gave me plastic knife and fork in a to go package like McDonalds! I had to go up to the bar and request a real knife and fork which they gave to us. And for those of you that are thinking, why do you need an knife and fork for wings? I remove the meat off of the wing and eat it that way then use the fork to dip it in the hot sauce. And we needed a fork for the french fries that were covered in garlic oil and parmagian cheese. I am willing to give it another chance but this time i'm sitting in one of the limited booths to see if there's any difference in the overall experience. I am surprised after so much money was spent on the establishment, ( of which they make you aware of in thier website statement), I am surprised that they were so stingy with the food...
Read moreThis review comes on the heels of our first visit to Westy’s - I hope it won’t be our last and that we have a chance to visit again and try a second time.
The atmosphere and overall vibe inside is great; they did a great job with the design and creating a great environment to hang out in. We really enjoyed the food we had but…
we came in on an away football weekend Sunday, so we had low expectations, but they had a VERY limited menu. This was not advertised anywhere (website, Facebook, or Instagram) and we would not have stopped in if we knew it was the case - for food, they only offered wings, nachos, pretzels, and a brisket smash burger. Our waitress told us that this is only the second time they’ve tried this “limited menu” approach on a Sunday; because of this, I would not come on a Sunday.
our waitress was very kind and friendly, but the service was not great. She came quickly over to get our initial order, but getting a second round of drinks was seemingly impossible with multiple “excuse me” and hand waves going missed; our table was bussed (to include empty glasses) but no second round was ever offered until we finally grabbed her attention.
Overall, the vibes were great, the limited food we had was enjoyable, and the prices weren’t terrible (better than competitors in the general vicinity), but overall our first visit missed the mark. I’d like to think this is due to growing pains and trying to figure out how to best operate in a unique environment like Highland Falls. We will try it again, but I’m not necessarily in a hurry and it definitely won’t be on a “special limited...
Read moreWas told by a local they were open and everyone was going. Wasn’t sure what to expect, but love the decor and the vibe. Smaller menu of food items, but they have a good bar selection. I got the pretzel's and brisket smash burger. Pretzels were amazing! Smash burger was good. Surprisingly I didnt tealize inwas getting 2, i thought is was a double patty. The chips were maybe barbeque? Sweet. I will have dinnmer tomorrow.
I struggled with the rating but giving them a 4 anyway. I am southern, laid back and easy. I sat in the alcove and no one xame to check on me at all. I asked another customer to make sure no one got my food so I could get comdiments, a to go box and another drink. The first time I was checked in was to take trash and tell me they'd bring the bill.
I am going to chalk it up to growing pains since they've only been open a week. I will be back because I want to try the Bucknner Beef and at 6 p.m. they were sold out... it must be good. We'll see if they have caught their stride when I'm...
