Thorne St Park — Attraction in Town of Horseheads

Thorne St is a great local park. It has a walking trail around the entire park, which is great to walk with your doggos! There's a playground, swings and a climbing train. There's also a smaller playground for younger kids. They also have a pool, basketball courts, and tennis courts, but the tennis courts are currently torn up for construction. The pool will be having construction done as well at some point soon. This park is also great in the winter to go sledding down the big hills that surround a couple of baseball fields. Great walking trail around the perimeter of the park, wrapping around the baseball fields, pool area, and two playground areas. Both children playgrounds have not been updated for a long time and have deteriorated significantly over the years. Several tables and pavilions (including two large spaces) available for picnics or gatherings. Honestly, I had a fantastic time! I like that is is spread apart a little bit. There are 2 different park areas, and an okay sized walking path for people walking, or riding on both sides. There aren't designated bike lanes but it is still doable. There is a pool ( idk we will ever get to use it again because of covid), but it is a decent sized.
