I've eaten in major cities across the country and I can honestly say that none have compared to the meal I had tonight at Thai Asian 119. I drove in from Utica, NY to dine here tonight and it was well worth the trip. From the Tom Yum Koong soup which was spicy and flavourful. The stock was rich and had tremendous depth while the vegetables and shrimp were fresh. The Hunan Shrimp with Garlic Sauce was phenomenal, everything was fresh and full of flavour. The sashimi dinner was par excellence, the chef clearly takes great pride in his work. The fish was fresh and so tender that it fell apart in your mouth. For dessert I had the Mango and Sticky Rice which was a delicious finish to what was with all honesty the singularly best meal I've had. I will most assuredly be dining here again, it truly is a treasure.
Edit: Had a second meal here. For an appitizer I had the crab rangoon and the spring rolls. The sauces that were served with both were delicious. On the suggestion of the proprietor I ordered the Teriyaki Chicken while my father had the Teriyaki Steak. We both had the fried rice and hot sake. The chicken was crispy on the exterior while remaining tender and juicy. The sauce was nothing short of divine. Many teriyaki sauces are too sweet to have any depth of flavour. This sauce had a delicate sweetness that complimented the chicken beautifully. The broccoli that was served with the dish was cooked perfectly and had a wonderful crunch. The steak my father ordered was cooked to a perfect medium rare. The sauce and vegetables were equally delicious. Once again a...
Read moreThe place itself was nice enough, but the "Thai" food just wasn't Thai. I had the pad se ew and it was boring and full of pieces of dry pepper. I assume that was in there because the waitress asked if I wanted "spicy" and I said Sure. The flavor was pretty much soy, dried peppers and bitter greens. There was one or two Thai basil leaves that had a bit if flavor but otherwise it pretty much tasted like noodles with soy sauce. My partner had the Thai Chicken which also was pretty much a slightly sweeter soy flavor over sizzling chicken. Both dishes were served nicely and the service was ok (except they brought out my dish a full 5-6 minutes before my partner's) but it really seems like a Chinese cook who attempts making a few Thai dishes. I dont think I'd go back as there are so many better Thai places just a few miles away in Ithaca. But, I suppose other items on the menu could be better. If I did ever go back, I'd probably order something from the Chinese section...
Read moreIt's a Chinese take on Thai cuisine. It is delicious and the volume of the food is huge for a good price. Their customer service is welcoming and kind. They have beautiful smile when they welcome you in. I don't care what they serve, but that lovely welcoming smile is worth any delicacy. Food is good but room for improvement for Thai cuisine. Their service speed is supersonic, fast, and the atmosphere is very kind. Their sushi is very delicious 😋. I love it so much. Will come here again for food and for their kind lovely smiles.
Went there again... the smiles and kind atmosphere were more than splendid. I absolutely love this place. More sushi ordered to eat, and it was heavenly. The taste for every one of them was unique...
