I wanted to like this place. I'm on vacation from a hectic working life, I love dumplings, noodles and tea. I figured I would go to a late lunch at a very highly rated place I can walk to with a solid-looking menu. We walked in, and stood at the counter for maybe 3-4 minutes before anyone acknowledged us and attempted to take our order. I ordered to stay (two coffees, a bowl of ramen, soup dumplings and a pork bun), but there were no available tables inside, so we sat outside and waited. Long story short, I had to get up and ask after my order/complain a few times, was met with something resembling contempt for having the gall to ask, and at one point was blamed for not hearing them call for us over the road noise (why do I have a table marker if you're not going to bring my order to me?). After we finally got our food (which I had to stand around and wait by the counter for or risk being forgotten again) I received a few apologies and a complimentary pair of spring rolls, which I appreciate but didn't the take sting out of the whole experience. Added a star for the consideration.
The food is ok. It's way too expensive for what it is; I can get better dumplings and bao in NYC in double the quantity and for less money. The experience is hugely disappointing; the customer service is severely lacking and there are no efficiencies to their operation at all.
Basically, if it's empty and you can sit inside, go ahead- it's not bad. Otherwise, I would not recommend bothering unless you don't value your time...
Read moreIt was just okay. I got the soup dumplings and there wasn’t that much soup in it and I had to ask the worker for a spoon even tho there were 5 of us they only gave one spoon. The other dumplings were just fine but lowkey tasted like they were frozen. We got drinks too and it was crowded at 3pm on a Saturday and they were under staffed so we waited almost 45 min for our drinks that were just okay. Also there were plenty of tables but not enough chairs. There is a bathroom that’s nice though. Some cute merch and snacks to buy too. I know it’s tannersville but it was strange that it’s an Asian cafe but none of the workers were Asian. Overall it was fine but def don’t go out of ur way...
Read moreWonderful space, well stocked with all kinds of delicious snacks and drinks that you can take to go or enjoy in the cafe. The staff were so friendly and really helpful, everyone really wants you to enjoy your time in the cafe. Their menu had some incredible staples and a handful of specials that were really tasty. The beef noodle soup was comforting, perfectly seasoned, and delicious. It was the perfect thing to warm me up on a cool Fall day. Their chicken katsu sando was a real treat with a tangy mayo and soft bread. The dumplings were sooo good and everything was very reasonably priced! Their drinks were perfectly crafted, I had the matcha and it was amazing. Can’t wait to...
