I wanted to try something new today, and boy did I make a mistake coming I was a party of 3- ordered a Salmon Burger-that smelled fishy, and 2 Village Beef Burger. Burgers were not worth $15. Onion Rings were warm not hot, same as order of Fries. Waitress Ally R. did her job with taking order etc. When she came to ask how everything was, I told her that only compliant was the Salmon Burger-when she asked what was wrong, she was told that it didn't smell right and smelled a little fishy. Because we had waited already a period of time, it was not worth sending it back. This is part of the review that everyone should see, Ally said she would "I will tell my Owner", great, I would think an Owner would want to know how the experience was etc. What we did notice is that while he stood near the back part of the restaurant- I am assuming serving as the expeditor as well. He walked past our table glanced down I would probably think to see if it was eaten-which it was and proceeded to go stand near the Hostess. Not once did he come to the table. It was also noted that during this entire time, he never went to one table to see how things are at all in the Dining Room didn't interact with the couple of people at the bar-nothing. I am in the Hospitality Industry for over 40 years. I work with many Restaurant Owners today, I have never heard of or seen that when an Owner is on premise not to at the very least check maybe 1-2 tables. It is a good way to stay connected with your customers. When he did go back to the line area, again, he looked down again at our table but never said a word. Is this Owner afraid for feedback? Is he afraid that someone will actually provide honest details. When we left it was a $75 dollar bill, I did leave 20%. I generally always start at least 25% and go up, but not in this case. When we were walking out I inquired with Ally is the little guy really an Owner or a Managing Partner-which those that work F&B know this means the person is a manager and provided the Restaurant meets certain goals he earns a bonus on top of his pay-just FYI, I was told that he is one of the Owners and he and his 2 brothers own the restaurants that are in NY, NC, Cal. That really shocked me because again being new into this Long Island Market it is pretty tough and would think getting honest feedback is important. I would also be curious if they have even established any regulars since they opened. My opinion would probably say they get maybe a onetime customer-since it is located on a very busy road-Rt. 110. The other call out that I would say and commend them on is that under Soda's it is listed as cola etc, not Pepsi or Coke-products. These beverages I believe come from Long Island Beverage and is an extremely cheap knock off-again just my opinion. And it tastes it. Would I recommend this place or go back again?...
Read moreJust had one the worst experiences with wait staff…. Ever. This is at least our 5th time eating at this restaurant. I have even brought groups of business people in for lunch. Sadly, due to the horrible attitude of today’s experience…. Adios!! My wife and I ordered 2 falafel burgers with the taziki topping. Simple, right? 15 minutes later. 2 Impossible burgers arrive. Sorry, wrong item. Hey, mistakes happen, no worries. Waitress apologized and then we never saw her again. Waited 20 minutes…. 1 falafel burger arrives….. “2 nd one is still being prepared”. Ok, that’s weird. Maybe the order was screwed up again and only 1 was put in?I don’t know. We can wait. Another 15 minutes plus, still no 2nd falafel sandwich. Ask another waitress walking by if the 2nd sandwich is coming, please. She comes back and seems annoyed, now too, and tells us it is being prepared… with an attitude towards us. Why? We are just sitting there patiently waiting. Finally, after the first sandwich was eaten, the waitress walks over, and drops off the 2nd sandwich on the edge of the table and walks away. Not a word, just lays it on the table and walks away. Nothing about, sorry again, sorry you had to wait another 20 minutes for your 2nd sandwich after the order was incorrect the first time….or how about some ice in your beverage…. We’ve been there over an hour, quietly waiting. Clearly, she has an attitude towards us. Not sure why, so I asked her, “did we do something wrong? You just kinda threw the 2nd falafel down and walked away as if we slighted you someway” That’s when she angrily confronted us. Holy Moly!! Woah! Such a shame! So sorry to report this experience as my wife and I really had such good experiences here in the past. The previous staff was super friendly and lovely and so very nice….. and we recommended this place to friends and brought business associates there. And moreso, we sincerely have said to each other that hope this business thrives. Just can’t believe how nasty this server was to us. Guess IATAH! Can’t remember ever having been angrily confronted by a server in my life. Amazing encounter, today. So sorry to write a negative review. I never have written a bad review before, but today was beyond the pale and the owner needs to be made aware that not all is well in Burger Village, today. - So...
Read moreMy wife and I ate here for the first time last night. We weren’t impressed. I thought the staff was unfriendly and they seemed untrained. The hostess barely greeted us, wiped down a table that we chose before we sat and while doing so knocked a set of utensils from the next table onto the floor (which had some food on it from prior diners) and left them there. When our waitress came to take our order, she picked up the utensils from the floor and placed them back on the table. (Now doesn’t that make you wonder about the cleanliness of everything else in the restaurant?). Our waitress was friendly enough, but just seemed a little untrained and awkward. For a new restaurant, I would expect maybe a “Welcome to Burger Village”, “Have you dined with us before?”, “Let me explain the menu”, we didn’t get any of those. My wife and I both ordered a beef burger with the $2 up charge for ‘special sauce’ and sautéed onions, an order of fries, an order of onion rings, one water and one coke. The burgers were kind of small and lost on the bun with the limp shredded lettuce. The fries were decent and the onion rings were pretty good. The sauces were all generic. $51 w/o tip is overpriced for the quality and quantity. When leaving, I passed another waitress who literally looked right at me and said nothing, no goodnight, no thank you for coming, just a blank stare. As we approached the door, I really don’t think the hostess was going to say anything until I said goodnight. Burger Village felt like one of those restaurants opened by an individual or a family who has never been in the service industry before. We were really hoping to like this new burger place but unfortunately we will not...
