10 years ago I had a to have a hysterectomy. What does that have to do with bagels? As of yesterday I thought those two things were unrelated. Yesterday I was on my way to a conference that I needed to present in front of 120 people. Got dressed felt/thought I looked good. My husband was like you look amazing. I drive 2 hours to Long Island. Figure I will go to the bagel spot with great reviews and not be hangry before I present. Go in wait on line order a salt bagel with cream cheese toasted. Go to check out. Woman behind the counter congratulated me on my pregnancy. What a punch to the throat. Tears flustered I said nope, that is not the case. What a monster. Why, why would you comment on someone's appearance? I was so upset I couldn't even be like I don't want this bagel anymore. Don't worry she hammered home the Disney world level of customer service by still charging me for the bagel and water. Yeah Great job, on reading none of the room. To boot, the bagel wasn't even that good. I was really hoping after charging me $6.53 for the bagel and water with a side of insult/ way to bring up major trauma before I am to present in front of 120 people that it would be fire. It was not. better than dunkin , sure, but at least the people at dunkin have decency to keep their thoughts on the inside. My suggestion there are a million bagel places in Long Island. Some of them are pretty amazing. This one, not special and they will have no problem commenting on you appearance. So if you want to have your self confidence shattered whilst ordering a mid level bagel. This place is top notch...
Read moreI strongly believe in supporting local business but do ask that the owner should invest times to train their employees on the customer service skill as this will make or break your business at the end of the day. I went to the stores to purchase 2 toaster bagels, a couple of muffins plus 1/2 dozen bagels. It took 1/2 hrs to get out of the stores after being help when everything is ready made. I saw my stuff on the counter and waited and waited for the helper. After 15 mins waiting, I asked another helper (brown hair, heavy makeup, with wrap on her knees) to grab them so I can pay for it. She told me that since someone has already helped me she can’t. She is pretty rude with her answer by the way. It would be an acceptable customer service if she would offer to find my helper but No, she just let me wait and proceed with helping someone else. This type of behavior is what will bring down the business so I hope that it is fixed. That is the reason...
Read moreBagel Biz makes the freshest bagels around. This company is well known in the area for fast service, clean shelves, and lines that go through the entire store on weekends, especially in the mornings.
They seem to be the only bagel place that makes their bagels on the premises. They also cater, and have plenty of cakes, danish, cookies, muffins, breakfast foods (cooked while you wait), lunch sandwiches, salads, and a refrigerator of basic items you can buy, like milk, butter, juice, cream cheese, etc.
I removed 1 star only because every once in awhile the bagels are overcooked making them dark brown and tough to chew through the crust. The majority are perfectly done--soft on the inside and slightly crispy on the bottom outside. Ask for what you want and they'll do their best to make you happy.
Update 9 Jul 19: Added a star as they have worked on making sure the bagels are more evenly cooked without the...
