I've been going here for over 10 years. I DJed a wedding upstairs back in 2014 & got hooked! We've celebrated so many family milestones here too. Apps are real good. You'll want extra bread to soak up the broth served with the steamed mussels & the baked clams oreganata. The thin bread sticks & crusty bread & hummus are a great starter. The main courses are always solid. On our recent visit, the sesame-crusted Tuna was perfection, Organic Chicken Parm & the grilled Branzino were top notch. My 8 year-old son loved his crab cake- lightly fried & served with a dollop of crab along with arugula salad & mango salsa. Drinks are well-made. Desserts are delectable. The creme brulee is addictive. Inside is refined & comfortable. Go upstairs for the harbor view. There are also two corner tables for any couple who want a semi-private dining vibe. The outdoor dining area is an area of their parking lot protected by a tent. It's decorated nicely with palm trees- and it's so nice to dine out there, but the experience gets marred a bit by the fact that the lot is on an incline. I always envision a beautiful deck here. I'd go to six stars! The owner told me town of Huntington is tough with permits. During Covid, they had the igloos here- which might be nice if they're air-conditioned & heated (one or two still sit there unused). Maybe they just didn't look elegant enough. They have free parking two lots down the road (coned off by the valets the night we went...who'll park your car closer). The food was so good I got distracted from taking pics, but I did snag one of the creme brulee before it vanished! Almost forgot...live music outside on Saturday nights (maybe others too). If you're there when Cosmo Mallard is playing, it's a bonus- nice guy & he's real good.

Dropped in today late in the afternoon with a friend, had a go at the food. Crab Cake Duo - Delicious, the fruit salad set this up as a fantastic appetizer. Clam Chowder - Decent, could've passed on the bagged crackers however, it didn't go well with the soup. Chicken Francese - this was the star of the show tonight, fantastic flavoring, great sauce and tangy Penne alone would've been worth the trip from the city. Jumbo Shrimp Provencal - This sadly was a disappointment considering it was a signature dish. It tasted nothing like its namesake, presented to us on a plate adorned with four cheese raviolis floating in a sea of what appears to be butter sauce gone cold, topped with 4 unseasoned BOILED jumbo shrimps. I can't stress the boiled part enough, as the highlight of this particular dish was actually the cheese ravioli, in cold runny butter sauce. I didn't spot any diced tomatoes and I sure didn't taste any of the roasted garlic while dipping the shrimp into very light tasting sauce. I know it may not make much a difference from a single persons opinion but please, reconsider this item on the menu unless everyone else seems to enjoy unseasoned boiled shrimp in cold butter sauce just fine. Sure the shrimp was tender, but tasteless and didn't manage to pickup much of the runny butter sauce to help its case either.

From the moment we walked into Harbor Mist, we were welcomed with genuine warmth. Nicole, our host, was incredibly pleasant and friendly—exactly the kind of first impression that sets the tone for a great meal. We were seated quickly upstairs, where the view of the harbor was nothing short of stunning. Our server, Nate, was equally impressive—attentive without hovering and super helpful in guiding us through the menu. He made some great recommendations and ensured everything came out just right. The cocktail selection? Top-notch. Whether you’re into classics or something a bit more creative, they’ve got you covered. Brunch was a standout, but honestly, every section of the menu looked (and tasted) amazing. The atmosphere deserves a shoutout, too. The decor strikes the perfect balance between coastal charm and refined comfort. And the background music? Soft, melodic Beegie Adair jazz—elegant, calming, and just right for a leisurely meal. All in all, Harbor Mist isn’t just a great place to eat—it’s a whole experience. We’ll definitely be back.

Oh Foodies... Brimstone here to tell you all about this awesome spot in Cold Spring Harbor, New York; the Harbor Mist Restaurant! Located directly across from Billy Joel Park (Yes, THE Billy Joel) and the Harbor itself; the structure stands two stories tall and is chock full of history! Considering it's one of the oldest buildings in the town, it also has a lot of stories to tell. For instance; the place was originally a very popular brothel and for all you ghost hunters out there... it is haunted!

**Note: We witnessed no paranormal activity while dining at Harbor Mist! LoL...

So... the restaurant is EPIC! Beautiful in every manor; the bar is in a separate room - elegant and old fashioned; great spot for a business drink or to meet up with friends. There are two separate Dining Rooms downstairs and upstairs. We opted to dine upstairs only because the view of the Harbor was such a serene background for our experience. Wide open space, great for a romantic dinner or a small wedding (which they apparently have there on a regular basis). On to the FOOD...

We started off with an array of appetizers. The Jumbo Lump Crabcake was HUGE - truly lived up to its name. It was packed with flavor including citrus marinated cucumbers and this slick chipotle aioli which offered a nice bite. Not fishy at all and served with a small brick of a corn and black bean light salsa that blended well with the crab. I felt adventurous and tried the Mussels Provencal which was a VERY large portion, doused with a delightful mix of garlic butter, white wine and herbs. Etan's App WIN was the Long Island Little Necks - a lot of power packed in those little shells; perfect ratio of clam to breading... NICE! My App WIN was the homemade Lobster Ravioli which was chock full o' fresh lobster and goodies in a light pink lobster cream sauce - LOVED it!

For Entrees, we had a lot of different dishes to choose from. We had the Mist Lobster Roll which was superb. Fresh Lobster NOT frozen (we met it before we ate it) chopped up with celery, tomato and that BOSS of a Lobster sauce! It came with these fries that were out of this world delish; freshly cut daily and fried in a Truffle Oil. The owner himself is very attentive and personally checks on every table, a testament to the family environment and his love for his customers. He brought us some Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc to go with our meals, A+ for the personal touch! My WIN was the Sesame Crusted Yellowfin Tuna - you could have fooled us that it was fish! Unreal; bursting with flavor from the Marsala, Shiitake Salsa and Ginger Soy. Sweet, tender and fantastic! The house favorite Pecan Crusted Tilapia was ginormous and tasty. The Chicken Parm was a WIN (it was DELICIOUS) and the Marinated Skirt Steak was a very close second for me... cooked me a PERFECT well-done skirtee and the chimichurri sauce was on point! The chef surprised us with these Filet Mignon Skewers to die for... meat was soft, tender and the sauce was BOSS; sweet, tangy and bursting with flavor. Peppers and onions were well-cooked not burnt and the sweet boldness of the peppers really made the flavor pop!

DESSERT! We opted to eat on their outdoor patio for the grand finale... GREAT choice! Everything is homemade here... EVERYTHING! The Canoli was soft, creamy with a flaky shell (YUM). They have RUM CAKE - a poundcake like texture with a ton of Rum (Double YUM). Cheesecake was Italian style, textured and made with Ricotta - very good... but the WIN was the Tiramisu!!! The bomb diggity in my book... moist, unbelievable and PERFECT! I enjoyed a flavorful Cappuccino and an Espresso with my delectable delights. Very pleased all around. The ambiance of the place was dynamite, the food was incredible and the Food Hounds can promise you that we'll be back! Highly recommended if you are looking for a spot for a special occasion or just to bring the family for a...

My wife and I went her for our 13th marriage anniversary. First and foremost I have never been treated with such disrespect before. We were seated outside in the tent. We got the complementary humus and bread. The problem started the moment the waiter/manager who was depressed completely different then everyone else came to the table. Would not make eye contact and rushed us thru the order, we ordered two apps and two mains and a drink which I know for sure we ordered because the waiter repeated the order. They bought our my soup and we were waiting for the cheese board to share...it never came. Before we could ask about the cheese board the main dishes came out. Strange. We asked for more humus...they took it to the wrong table next to us. We asked again for humus they took it again to the wrong table next to us. The main are there and we figured let's not make a big deal and enjoy. We told the waiter to forget about the cheese board. I had the chicken and linguine and no one ever. Asked or brought over and parmesan. The pasta was bland and soggy the chicken was completely burnt on the sides. I could not even eat the food and asked to speak to the manager...he went to the table rite next to us and brought them another bread basket.lol can't make this stuff up. He finally comes to our table and I told him all the issues and he says I didn't hear you order a cheese board. I brought you an app, your soup, you and two helpings of humus. I was fuming by this point and here comes the kicker. He brings us the check and throws it on the table and doesn't say anything. Honestly this place is the worst. Everyone there needs retraining. If you done here and allow them to treat you like this...then I feel sorry for you. Plenty of good restaurants down the road. You are not...
