Absolutely love Riley's. As an East Northport resident, I went to their Huntington location for years. Now that they are right down the block, life is good! Everything I've ever gotten is super fresh, has solid portions, creative ingredients, and is all around just legit delicious American food. It's also cool that they have such a variety depending on my mood. Occasionally I'll get a random urge to be healthy, usually lasting no more than a few hours tops, but nevertheless when that does happen - the salads here are freaking amazing. Especially the Autumn Harvest and Baja Blend I like the best with some grilled chicken or shrimp. Up until now, was there even anywhere to get a salad around here? Hell no there wasn't, but now there is. Seriously good ones to boot.
Now, on to the meat and potatoes... where do I even start?! Mac n Cheese, Gumbo, Fish n Chips, Steak Sandwich, Chicken Wings, Bolognese?! They all never ever disappoint and always hit the spot. I've probably had everything on their menu 10x, it's all great. The vegetarian wife looooves their hummus and their black bean burger as well. Honestly I like that stuff too, not gonna lie, I always steal a few bites. I should also mention that their kids chicken fingers and fries, for the little one, are actually really tasty and are definitely prepared with high quality chicken and cooked to order. It seems like most places when I order that for my son, even at nice places, they seemingly give you some microwaved frozen McDonalds chicken nugget BS. I like McDonalds nugs as much as the next guy (who am I kidding) but you know what I mean.
Desserts are definitely homemade in-house and it shows by how great they taste, unlike the canned defrosted from who-knows-where garbage desserts most places have around here. Not trying to talk so much smack but it's true. I most recently had the Warm Apple Cobbler and it was damnnnn good. Love me some apple cobbler. Especially after a healthy salad...🤦🏻♂️
Last but not least - Service is always top-notch, professional, friendly, and personable. I'm still paranoid as sh*t to go out in public for most things with everything goin on, but been doin take-out and delivery and it's always quick and easy. Highly highly recommended; East Northport just stepped it's food game up big time - thank...
Read moreI wouldn’t come here again based on the service alone. Went for a celebration of 3 adults on a Saturday at 7, no reservation. We waited for about 45 minutes at the bar, during which time we weren’t served water or given bar menus. When the bartender finally gave us enough attention to talk, we asked for menus and he made a snarky remark about how he had a lot going on and to give him a moment... Once we sat, our drinks still didn’t come for another 10+ minutes and all at different times, and mine was wrong. Our water finally came almost an hour after walking in Riley’s. And a side note for management, our waitress was dressed more than casually, in spandex shorts that didn’t fit the atmosphere or seem appropriate.
The food was good, better than bar food but not what I’d expect for the price and service received in this neighborhood. We tried the Mac and cheese with chicken, Gorgonzola chicken, and pork chop special. Everything took incredibly long to come out, more than reasonably explainable given how the crowd was thinning out by this time. If the waitress was good and kept any amount of conversation with us it wouldn’t have been a big deal but she barely came by and made it a really disappointing experience.
The actual place is cute! Nice decor, and comfy seating. If they improved service it would be...
Read moreWent in on a Tuesday evening. Place wasn’t even half full. Ordered a cup of lobster bisque, a steak sandwich and a sautéed chicken dish off the specials menu. Lobster bisque took 15mins to come out, it was okay but really lacked seasoning and was lukewarm. The entrees took a total of 40mins to come out. The waitress avoided us until the food came out. She spent most of her time at the bar flirting with the bartender, and also was on her phone constantly. Sautéed chicken dish wasn’t anything that the menu described as it was missing ingredients and was breaded in a very thick greasy breading. Steak sandwich tasted okay but there was barely any steak on it. A cup of soup, a sandwich, a chicken breast dish, and one drink came to about $100 after tip. The prices are way out of line considering how mediocre the food was. Took a chance going to a place we weren’t familiar with and will not be back...
