We had a party of 8 celebrating a birthday on a Friday night reservations made for 5:30- which when we arrived they "couldnt find" yet they were able to seat us. The interior is very esthetically pleasing. We arrived shortly before the "after work bar crowd" dispersed and the music and chatter was very loud. About 20 minutes after we arrived the bar noise subsided however, the background music was still too loud, (which seems to be an issue in many restaurants lately) guests shouldn't have to shout across the table to be heard or be sitting right beside someone to converse. Our server KENNY was incredibly attentive, and helpful with menu questions. He was very aware of ALL his tables. I watched him at other tables and his interaction with guests was exemplary. We chose a variety of appetizers and shared them. The onion ring tower was a huge hit, the calamari was spicier than we expected, but prepared well, our table also had the lollipop chicken which was very tasty. The NY strip was cooked to perfection. The duck was said to have been delicious. Bronzino was also very good however, the ribeye was extremely under seasoned, I had the pork chop which was nicely spiced perfectly cooked to medium, and came with house made potato chips which were the best I've had to date. Sides ordered in addition to our mains were the creamed spinach which was "meh" the broccolini -very undercooked and under seasoned. Sweet potato fries- nothing special and had no salt or seasoning. All the food was piping hot, a definite plus to the kitchen but also shows that Kenny didnt waste any time serving as soon as the plates were ready!
All in All the service was exemplary, (Thank you KENNY!) Most main dishes were well prepared and tasty yet a bit over priced, (especially the...
Read moreI cannot express enough how incredible our experience was at The Halston! A friend recommended it since we’d never been, so we decided to try it out for Father’s Day — and I’m so glad we did. We had the best time ever!
Our server, Alisha, was phenomenal. She was warm, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect throughout our meal. Her service truly elevated our experience.
We started with the mac and cheese with bacon, lamb chops, and tomato soup with grilled cheese for appetizers. The mac and cheese was especially amazing — creamy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. My friends loved the other starters as well.
For our mains, we had the Apple French toast, scrambled eggs, baby back ribs, bone-in short ribs, and sweet potato bowl. Every single dish was delicious, and everyone at the table was thoroughly happy with their meal.
Even when a small mix-up happened, Alisha and the management handled it quickly, professionally, and with such kindness that it only made us appreciate the experience more.
Truly one of the best dining experiences I’ve had. Period. I’ll definitely be back, and I can’t wait to tell more people about this gem. Thank you to Alisha (pronounced A-lish-a, not A-lee-sha...lol) and the entire team at...
Read moreMy wife and I were on Long Island for a bridal shower and after a long day we were happy to have reservations at The Halston. We enjoyed our meal and were treated well, but around midnight, my wife awoke with gastrointestinal issues and cold sweats. For the next 3 hours, she purged herself of dinner but felt better when it was over. She was quite exhausted from the ordeal as we made our way back home.
I contacted the restaurant and the General Manager Paul D'Amelio responded. We spoke on the phone and he expressed his concerns, said he was going to eat a serving of the sea bass that caused my wife's illness and offered to refund half of our $300 check. I accepted his offer and assumed that the issue was settled. Except the refund never arrived. I contacted him again, but he did nothing. So I am left to assume that this is how he handled the whole situation, by doing nothing.
This type of sleazy business practice has no place in the restaurant industry where food-born illness can have dire consequences. I have informed my new extended family in New York to avoid The Halston and all Anthony Scotto Restaurants including Blackstone Steakhouse, Insignia Prime Steak & Sushi, Rare 650, One10 Modern Italian and...
