We were there for dinner 2/27 about 5:45 and we were seated at table PR4 and Jordon F was our server. This was my second time there for a date night with my special lady. The first time was a great experience, good food, seated outside on a warm summer night it couldn’t have been better. Last night certainly was not the same type of experience. As we both sat at the table waiting for drinks to come we both thought someone was smoking inside as there was a strong smell of cigarette smoke. As the minutes went by we kept smelling it and it was very strong. We ordered and just before the food came out I looked down on the table and on my napkin with the fork was a 1/2 smoked cigarette butt. That was the stench and it was disgusting. I picked up the fork and it was not clean there was still food on it. When Jordon returned we gave her the napkin with the butt and told her how disgusting it was and she replied that it was kinda gross. We didn’t enjoy the dinner or the date night after that because if there was a cigarette butt on the napkin and dirty fork, to us that means the table probably wasn’t even cleaned before and that’s not acceptable. We had that skeevy feeling while eating after that. I wanted management to be aware of this as I am quite sure a business owner would not want this happening in their establishment. So we have one really good experience there and one really bad experience there. If we were to ever return again what should we expect that...
Read moreHad the misfortune of dealing with unfriendly bartenders multiple times. I don’t care for this place but I always come with multiple regulars of theirs. We were very disappointed by our recent visits.
A couple weeks ago, on a Monday night. The male bartender (who we have never seen) barely acknowledged us, didn’t check in on us at all but did so with all the other people. Not a good first impression. We asked about available dessert and he didn’t bother taking our order for it then passed by us multiple times while we waited to order another drink. He made us upset enough to leave to a different spot for dessert despite us ordering multiple dishes already here.
This recent Saturday afternoon, the girl at the bar had an attitude as well (also someone we weren’t used to). She did not converse with us nor checked in or acknowledged us after pouring our drinks. She was really friendly with everyone else though. We are used to being greeted by a friendly smile every time we go there. We may not be THEIR regulars but we are regulars, know the owners, some other staff and the manager. Treat us nice too.
It’s a great local restaurant but the service is inconsistent now and we don’t appreciate the selective bartenders. We have gone too many times and never had issues before. Kindly educate some of these workers on hospitality before you lose...
Read moreWe had never been to Shamrock Jack's and didn't v check reviews beforehand. From the moment we stepped in we felt welcome, like n they were glad we came. Despite it being a busy night, we sat at the bar, and barely got our beers when he said he found a spot for us. We were seated in a modest-sized back room, which was cozy and nice, and Julie took our orders promptly. Multiple staff members said hello, and asked if we needed anything. The food was nothing ground breaking, but was nice, simple comfort foods done well. My wife had Shepherds Pie which was a nice sized portion and I had a burger, both of which were very good. When the bill came, I pointed out that she hadn't added in the drinks from the bar, and she smiled and said thanks for being patient. Good food is important, but I won't eat anywhere that the food is outstanding, but I get the impression I am a bother for being there. Shamrock Jack's made me feel like I was very important to them, and the staff was so friendly and likeable. It's not easy to build that kind of culture in the food industry, so my hat's off them, for being so pleasant and welcoming to this couple...
