Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Town of Islip

I had the most incredible experience tonight. I’m a daily customer I probably visit this place four or five times a week for dinner, being a single man with a new girlfriend, doesn’t give me a lot of time to cook with a seven day a week job. So this Applebee’s has been my second home for dinner. What happen tonight is beyond exam sorry, I was given a gift card for my birthday, and I did not have any cash on me because I never thought my gift card wouldn’t work, it was for $50, and for whatever reason Applebee’s has trouble taking vanilla visa gift cards, but I never had any idea about this so I ordered my dinner like I do every night, so soft tried to pay for my dinner and it was declined over and over again. The most embarrassing situation ever.

So the manager came out, literally said dumb just take your food, even if the money doesn’t come off the card we’re gonna take care of it for you tonight, we don’t want your food to get cold you are a great customer, we will take care of this even if it means using the gift card outside at Applebee’s for someone, we will except this for your dinner tonight. I am literally flabbergasted and blown away right now at the Customer Service in doing that for me. They literally should’ve sent me home without the food, and said your gift card is bad we don’t except vanilla visa at our store, we need another payment method. Instead they excepted the card even though the store credit card machines don’t take it and they still took care of me and treated me as a customer. This Bohemia I would be his is unbelievable one of the best restaurants on Long Island, the management and the staff are the sweetest people alive I deal with them on...

So tired of being let down, I eat here 2 to 3x a week, let's start by neighborhood bar, man someone should remember my name, not worried about my name. Came to Applebee's for a birthday 9 people. We were told there was no way we could be on one table. I have seen 20 plus times tables moved together on both sides of restaurant to accommodate a big party...All tables empty. Ruin the energy of the entire dining experience. Who the he'll wants to sit separate from their friends. LAZY!!!

Every time I go there I cringe when they put me in the bar section. The girl who is the Bartender is also the waitress at same time!!! She works hard. But when is busy. U are not getting refills, or just checked on 40 minutes into our stay after forgetting 2 Appetizers. We are completely done now, she puts them in.55 minutes there 2 Appetizers come out. I guess the bar is not busy enough so they give the bartenders tables, awful. BAR IS NOT BUSY ENOUGH FOR A REASON.

EMPTY Plates piled 6 high 4 stacks on table 15 minutes...not expecting fine dining but cmon.

Only reason why I wrote the review was I had 2, 13 years old birthdays. I ordered $20 in dessert, just wanted staff to sing..and just dumped on table not one care $160 later Just a terrible neighborhood experience!!!!

I always tip 25 percent. So they may think there doing well but always looks like short staffed. Maybe give u...

The twofer Drinks were stronger than I thought! Got the pina coladas and long island ice teas . If your going for something strong I highly recommend the LIT, if you like a sweeter chillin drink then Def the pina colada! We were able to share with other people at the table since it's 2 drinks per order at the same time. But I'm not sure if your supposed to haha. Got an array of foods off the menu and appetizers but one of my classics and all time favorite is the wonton tacos with plenty of lime! And the spinach and artichoke dip. You can ask for more chips and salsa also! Overall the food was good for the price especially after 9pm. It's a great place to just catch up with friends or family. The only cons In MY opinion based on my personal food perference is the boneless wings. They cannot be substituted for in bone wings and most of the food is from packets or frozen. With the 15.99 all you can eat boneless wings, riblets, popcorn shrimp, BOTH the wings and the riblets are boneless. The way that works is you get one choice of meat first with fries and then after you finish it, then you can ask for another different one. It's not 3 all the same time unfortunately. The price isn't bad for that if your a big eater but personally I don't like big chunks of meat unless it's some type of steak. Especially...
