Glenn Wayne Bakery — Restaurant in Town of Islip

My wife and I went to Glenn Wayne Bakery on Saturday to get donuts for a party. While we where inside the bakery people are standing around with donuts box's in there hands. No one was picking donuts.So I went around the group of people just standing in front of the donuts case. And i started grabbing my donuts. Then you hear a female voice scream in the bakery HAPPY HOUR STARTS AT 5 O CLOCK ON THE DOT. NO DONUTS ARE TO BE PUT IN THE BOX TILL THEN. YOU HAVE TEN MINUTES & HAVE TO WAIT TILL THEN. I looked at my watch and the time was 4:50 pm. I didn't know what she was talking about. She definitely scared myself & my wife and the other customers in the bakery. I proceeded to grab my donuts. We go up to the register to pay for our donuts. My wife said out loud you want to be rude i'm going to be rude and slammed her credit card down on the table. The girl behind the girl that was helping us was sweeping and mumbling under here breath. She is also the one that screamed out loud in the bakery. I asked her for here name and she mumbled out a name. Couldn't even hear what she said. And continued sweeping. As we walked out she started speaking Spanish to the girl that was helping us at the register. I think she was very rude and unprofessional of the way she had acted that day. This isn't the first time that i have had a negative experience with this worker. Good donuts but...

We were in the area and googled bakeries. This popped up and had consistent amazing reviews. The location is a bit strange as you seem to drive through an industrial /manufacturing area before arriving. I think the bakery is well aware of this as they have tons of signs leading you from the main road to the bakery entrance. We got there at around 11:30 AM on Labor Day, not knowing what to expect. MAny bakeries usually sell out of the good stuff early on. We entered and were pleasantly surprised at the variety of pastries and donuts...they even had a gluten-free section. They had basic donuts as well as few specialty ones. They had pastries, cookies, and Italian cookies as well. There were also a few cakes for sale as well as coffee. All staff we encountered were very nice. We left with a little bit of everything. Everything was really good. I highly recommend this place to everyone...

I pray it's as good as it was when they first opened..... absolutely 💯 with a coffee in the morning, or a sweet treat weekend cheat!!!!!

I finally made it back in March of 2024.. AND EVERYTHING WAS ABSOLUTELY DIVINE!! Freshest baked goods, EXCEPTIONAL CUSTOMER SERVICE, CLEAN AND ORGANIZED STORE, AND THE CUSTOMERS WERE PHENOMENAL... as I was leaving to go home, 2 drivers coming in from delivering, both smiled and greeted me...both spoke and the last one said. " YOU HAVE A GREAT DAY & GREATER WEEKEND! "!!!

HANDS DOWN... THIS BAKERY IS STILLLLL THE BEST....all that sugar and goodness are not only in the doughnuts and pastries, but it's also IN THE PEOPLE!!! at the Glenn Wayne Bakery.

( on a side note, the last 7yrs of my life, have been beyond disappointing and difficult 😞, but today, the littlest thing, made me smile, and I haven't done that in 5 yrs...thanks...
